Bauchi APC stakeholders berate Reps member for neglecting constituents
The All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in Jama’are Local Government Area of Bauchi State, under the aegis of APC Critical Stakeholders of Jama’are, have berated a House of Reps member, representing Jama’are/Itas Gadau Federal Constituency, Bashir Uba Mashema, for allegedly neglecting the area since his election. The spokesperson of the group, Isah Mohammed Dangaladima, made the allegation in a press release he signed and made available to journalists at the weekend. He said despite the critical role played by stakeholders in Jama’are during the election in 2019 to ensure Mashema emerged to represent the constituency in the National Assembly, the federal lawmaker had continued to shun them. He further alleged that apart from not visiting the local government, Mashema has stopped participating in all political activities in the area. “The stakeholders unanimously supported you with the belief that when you emerge as the winner, you would represent the good people of Jama’are/Itas-Gadau federal constituency without any prejudice, you would stand for their political interests and you would be more helpful and carry everyone along. “However, since you assumed office as a representative of the people of the aforementioned constituency, your constituents feel neglected as you stopped visiting them and shunned participating in all the political activities of Jama’are Local Government Area in particular,” the stakeholders’ spokesman partly stated. The group alleged that the House of Representatives member failed to play any role in the process of conducting the recently held congress in Jama’are through which consensus officials emerged as directed by the party’s national secretariat. They alleged that Mashema’s lackadaisical attitude towards the party’s affairs in Jama’are LGA was because of his coming from Itas-Gadau LGA. Saying they would not accept the lawmaker’s inaction in the area, the group said, “We noticed that because you emanated from Itas-Gadau Local Government, you allowed the saboteurs to temper with the result of our local government. “Your inactions are highly unacceptable and does not go down well with all APC critical stakeholders of Jama’are local government area,” Dangaladima stated.
