Manchester United midfielder, Bruno Fernandes, has criticized the Red Devils players for not playing at their best against Liverpool following their Premier League 4-2 defeat against the Reds on Thursday.
Fernandes believes Man United players gave Liverpool more space during the encounter at Old Trafford, adding that the visitors used the opportunity to score.
Goals from Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah ensured Liverpool defeated Man United as Fernandes and Marcus Rashford’s two goals were not enough.
“We played side to side, we tried to do what we trained at,” Fernandes told MUTV.
“When you go down, playing 45 minutes against a team like Liverpool, we tried to push a little more and create danger.
“We gave more space to them, and they took that space, and we conceded another two goals.
‘Everyone was disappointed in the dressing room because we made mistakes, but we’ll learn from that, and we have to keep improving. We are not at our best yet.”
Man United’s next game is against Fulham on May 18.
