Football: George Weah Son Makes USA Debut

Timothy Weah, the 18-year-old son of 1995 FIFA Player of the Year and Liberian President George, made his international debut for the USA as they beat Paraguay 1-0 in a friendly.
Weah, the first player born in the 2000s to play for the United States, said: ‘This is what I’ve been waiting for my whole life. I’m really appreciative of the chance that the coaching staff has given me, and I’m hoping that I get more call-ups.’
The teenager came on as an 86th minute substitute in a game decided by Bobby Wood’s penalty kick, for the USA’s first win in three games under interim coach Dave Sarachan.
