Ghana vs Nigeria: Henry reacts as NFF picks former Barcelona star as Super Eagles coach
Former Nigerian midfielder, Henry Nwosu has applauded the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, for picking former Barcelona winger, Emmanuel Amuneke as one of the Super Eagles coaches. Amuneke was named as part of Austine Eguavoen’s technical crew earlier this week and Henry believes the move will further raise the standard of football of the team. The nation’s football governing body, on Monday, included Amuneke, as the chief coach of the Super Eagles. This decision was made ahead of Nigeria’s World Cup qualifying playoff clash against the Black Stars of Ghana in March. And Henry, a 1980 AFCON winner, hailed the Amaju Pinnick-led NFF for picking Amuneke for the job, adding that it would help the Super Eagles technically and tactically. “To be frank, this is one of the best decisions the NFF has made in a very long time. “This also shows that the NFF are now listening to the voices of sports loving Nigerians who have been clamouring for the inclusion of Emmanuel Amuneke to the Super Eagles technical crew. “His wealth of experience will be of great help to the team, most especially his technical and tactical knowledge of the game. For me, his combination with Austine Eguavoen will drive the team to a higher level,” he told Complete Sports.
