Governor Planning To Recall Assembly Member Over Cow Meat – PDP

John Akans, Publicity Secretary of the PDP, in a statement on Thursday in Jos, claimed that the governor’s grouse was the lawmaker’s alleged refusal to share to his constituents the meat of a cow government donated at Christmas

The Plateau State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has accused Governor Simon Lalong of planning to sponsor the recall of Godfrey Lamdit, a member of the House of Assembly representing Langtang North-North.
John Akans, Publicity Secretary of the PDP, in a statement on Thursday in Jos, claimed that the governor’s grouse was the lawmaker’s alleged refusal to share to his constituents the meat of a cow government donated at Christmas.
Lamdit, the House Deputy Leader, was elected on the platform of the PDP.
Akans claimed that an unspecified sum had been set aside for the recall project and advised government against going ahead with the plan.
The PDP official said the party would resist any move in that direction, and declared it was “strange” to seek to recall a lawmaker over cow meat.
But Dan Manjang, the Special Adviser (Media and Publicity) to the Governor, has dismissed the allegation as “laughable”.
Manjang said: “The governor has better and more important things to do. He has no time for such frivolities.
“The APC already has a majority in the Assembly. Of what benefit will the recall of a PDP member be to the governor? What difference will it make?
“The governor cannot stoop so low. This is not an issue at all.”
Manjang described the allegation as a “wild fiction” by the PDP that should not bother anyone.
