Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola, has said that Tottenham striker, Harry Kane was never an option for City when they were trying to sign him over the summer. Pep Guardiola stated this after Kane netted a double in a 3-2 win over Manchester City on Saturday. Dejan Kulusevski fired Antonio Conte’s men ahead and Kane scored twice after Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez had both equalised for City. Kane’s fine display comes after Pep Guardiola’s City made a bid for him last summer, but Tottenham rejected the bid, holding onto their prize asset. And Guardiola, who admitted that Man City wanted the England captain, added that the 29-year-old was never truly a possibility for City. “Never was an option, everybody knows we were interested, but never was an option so we forget, it’s the past,” Guardiola told a press conference. “It’s not necessary to show today the goals he scored and the quality with the ball to show his quality, all the UK knows it,” he said.
