Mason Mount gives reasons for Chelsea’s 3-2 defeat to West Ham

Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount has issued a strong warning to his teammates after their defeat to West Ham on Saturday.

The England star warned that the team is beginning to make mistakes, calling on his teammates to step up.

He said Chelsea must ‘react’ to Saturday’s 3-2 defeat away to the Hammers which has seen the Blues drop down to third in the Premier League.

Chelsea midfielder Jorginho’s loose pass back to Edouard Mendy gave the Hammers their opening goal after the Senegalese goalkeeper brought down Jarrod Bowen in the box to give away a penalty.

Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel had lamented after the game that his team now makes too many mistakes.

“The Watford game was a win but it could have gone either way and we scrapped it really and now this one is a defeat,” he told Chelsea’s official website.

“Over the past couple of games, we’ve started to make mistakes which we haven’t really made in the past. We’re a team that doesn’t give away many chances but here we’ve conceded three and that’s something we need to look at.”
