Roma midfielder Nemanja Matic amazed by fans on Olimpico debut

 AS Roma midfielder Nemanja Matic was happy to be part of their 5-0 preseason friendly defeat of Shakhtar Donetsk.

It marked the former Manchester United midfielder's debut as a Roma player at the Olimpico.

Matic said, "I am very happy to have played here, in this great stadium in front of our fans. I am very happy to have won.

"We worked very hard every day. Our team is ready for the next match against Salernitana. We expect a difficult match, but we are a very strong team and I think we are prepared."

"I think I'm ready. I work very hard every day. The team and I are ready for any battle and we will do our best to make our fans proud.
