We’re Investigating Source Of Bomb Found In Primary School – Abia State Government

  Following the discovery of an object suspected to be explosive at Union Primary School, Afaraukwu in Umuahia North LGA Abia State on Thursday, the state government has said it is currently working with relevant security agencies to unravel the source and nature of the explosive devices. The Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu disclosed this on Thursday in a statement made available to ABN TV. Abia state government has urged teachers in the state to resume classes, by March 1, 2020, saying that it had paid one million Naira between December 2020 and January 2021, to settle arrears of salaries, owed teachers in the state Teachers in the state had gone on an indefinite strike to press home the demand for the payment of arrears of salaries owed them. The Abia State Governor, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, Ph.D. has received the Report of the Committee on the supposed employments without waiver at the Secondary Education Management Board (SEMB). The Governor has equally noted the submissions of the Committee to the effect that out of the 5,853 people said to have been employed between 2018 to 2020, Only 187 people were employed with waiver, leaving 5,666 people as employed without waiver. Abia State Government Releases Pictures Of Fleeing COVID-19 Patient, Emmanuel Ononiwu

The Abia state government has made public the pictorial profile of a fleeing COVID-19 patient in the state, Emmanuel Ononiwu who took to his heels after a test confirmed he was positive for the virus. He was later declared wanted after escaping from a holding center in Aba where he was kept in readiness for movement into isolation centre. Mr. Ononiwu, a generator mechanic, uses a Mercedes V-Boot car, previously used a Mercedes 190 brand, and is believed to be from Ikeduru LGA of Imo State but resident in Aba. The public is advised to call 0700 2242 362 if the fleeing patient is seen anywhere. The government also appealed that he should not be approached physically without adequate protection to avoid being infected with COVID-19.

The state government on Sunday declared that its rice plants at Acha in Isuikwuato, Ofeme in Umuahia North and Uzuakoli in Bende LGAs were producing large quantity of rice enough for local consumption which will soon be exporting to other states.
