Governor Seyi Makinde, along with the state government’s executive council, has approved N1.2 billion to construct a new lodge in Abuja for the incumbent and successive governors. The Commissioner of Public Works and Infrastructure, Daud Sangodoyin, disclosed that the council approved N1.2 billion to construct a new Governor’s Lodge at No 2. John Kadiya Close, Asokoro, Abuja. Mr Sangodoyin further revealed that the new lodge would provide apartments for the governor, deputy governor, chalets, fittings, and furniture, “which would be of modern type.” The commissioner added that the government would complete the building project in six months. Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested five suspected Fulani armed robbers in the Kuje area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, with two vehicles containing locally made guns. SaharaReporters learnt that the Fulani suspects were nabbed by troops of 176 Battalion, Gwagwalada, during a stop and search operation at the entrance of Kuje Area council on Thursday. It was gathered that the men were arrested inside two Golf cars with the weapons, after credible intelligence was given to the troops on duty. EFCC Uncovers Another Internet Fraud Training Centre In Abuja

Operatives of the Abuja Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have uncovered yet another underworld ‘academy’ for the grooming of internet fraudsters. The ‘academy’ located in Arab Contractors Area of Mpape Hills, a suburb of Abuja, was discovered when operatives, acting on intelligence, stormed the base on Thursday February 18, and arrested 27 internet fraud suspects. The coordinator of the ‘academy’ is said to be 30-year-old Emmanuel Clement, and his ‘students’ are mostly young school leavers, ladies inclusive, within the age range of 18 to 25 years. Items recovered from the suspects include a Toyota Venza car, 30 mobile phones and one laptop. They will be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.
