Constitution Review: Sultan of Sokoto calls for unrestricted usage of hijab

Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III has called for use of Hijab by Muslim women without restrictions and in total observance of the freedom of religion in the country. The monarch made the call on Tuesday June 1, at the North West Zonal Public Hearing on the Constitution Review organised by the House of Representatives for Stakeholders from Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara in Birnin Kebbi. Abubakar who is the President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), asked why the wearing of the Hijab would be a problem for others who were not using it. Look out for Crescent of Ramadan From Monday – Sultan of Sokoto Tells Muslims

Muslim Ummah have been directed by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III to look out for the crescent (moon) of Ramadan 1442AH from Monday April 12. In a statement issued by Prof. Sambo Junaidu, Chairman, Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs, Sultanate Council, Sokoto on Sunday April 11, the Sultan said Muslims should report its sighting to the nearest District or Village Head for onward communication to the Sultan.
