Bandits kill 4 vigilantes in Kaduna

Four vigilantes were reportedly killed by armed bandits in Rafin Tukurwa village, close to Dogon Dawa in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Tuesday afternoon, May 11. Daily Trust reported that the vigilantes were ambushed by 2pm while on their way to Rafin Tukurwa after receiving a distress call from the villagers that bandits had attacked the area to rustle cows. A personnel of the Oyo State Security Network Agency codenamed Amotekun, Suleiman Quadri, has been killed by gunmen. According to reports, Quadri was said to have been ambushed by bandits numbering about 11 while escorting the staff of a farm to the farmland in Fiditi on Tuesday night, April 20. The gunmen opened fire on the security operative and his colleague Amoo Yisau. While Yisau sustained gunshot injuries and is being treated at the General Hospital, Owode Oyo, Quadri lost his life. Unidentified gunmen have abducted Oladunni Odetola, a medical doctor, and Mrs. Bamgbose, a nurse, while traveling on Abeokuta-Imeko road, Ogun state on Wednesday night, April 7. Odetola who heads the General Hospital in Imeko, headquarters of Imeko-Afon LGA, was traveling with the nurse when they were ambushed and whisked away by the gunmen at Olubo village. Man Chops Off Rival’s Hand During Fight Over Girlfriend

A 23-year-old man, Abubakar Yahaya who got into a fight over a girlfriend ended up chopping off his rival’s hand. It was gathered that the fight between Abubakar Yahaya and Mohammed Jafar in Yola, Adamawa State, was sparked by Mariam Boni, Mohammed’s girlfriend’s decision to end their relationship to start dating Jafar. Eyewitnesses told newsmen that Yahaya made several attempts to stop Mohammed from seeing Mariam, however after Mohammed refused to give in to his threat, he ambushed him on November 21st with his friends and during the attack, used a matchete to chop off Mohammed’s hands. The suspect who was arrested after the incident was reported to the police, will be charged to court after investigation is concluded.

23 Nigerian Soldiers Missing After Boko Haram Terrorists Ambushed Them In Borno State

No fewer than 23 Nigerian soldiers are yet to be accounted for after Boko Haram insurgents ambushed a military convoy at Boboshe village in Bama local government area of Borno. Five officers, 18 soldiers and 8 trucks were missing after the attack which occurred early on Saturday. The News Agency of Nigeria learned that the military, acting on intelligence, mobilized troops in a convoy of 11 trucks to clear the insurgents from the deserted village. The attacking insurgents were believed to have been those who escaped the ongoing offensive by the military to flush out the  Boko Haram terrorists in the fringes of Sambisa Forest and Lake Chad region.
