Buhari Will Not Accept Femi Fani-Kayode As APC Member – Dr Salihu Lukman lPGF DG

The Director-General of the Progressives Governors Forum, Dr. Salihu Lukman, has cautioned the leadership of the All Progressives Congress against admitting former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, into the party. Lukman described as disturbing, the circulation of pictures of a meeting between the APC National Chairman, Governor Mai Mala Buni; Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello; and Fani-Kayode amidst speculations that the Peoples Democratic Party chieftain was being encouraged to join the APC. The PGF DG said this in a statement titled, ‘APC: Reminder about Our Values,’ released to newsmen in Abuja, on Tuesday. Suspended National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has accused the court-endorsed acting National Chairman of the party, Chief Victor Giadom of attempting to destroy the party the way his group allegedly did in his home state, Rivers. Oshiomhole in an online television interview monitored in Abuja also declared that Giadom was no longer a member of the National Working Committee NWC of the party, noting that assuming he was still one, it would not be possible for a deputy National Secretary to superintend over the affairs of the party in the presence of other high ranking officials. Details Of APC Crisis As 3 Acting Chairmen Emerge In 3 Hrs

THE leadership crisis in the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, yesterday, took a melodramatic twist as three persons, within three hours, laid claim to national chairmanship of the party, in an acting capacity. This happened few hours after the Court of Appeal upheld the lower court’s ruling suspending Comrade Adams Oshiomhole as APC national chairman on Tuesday. The three acting chairmen are Deputy National Chairman, South, Senator Abiola Ajimobi; Deputy National Secretary of the party, Chief Victor Giadom, and National Vice Chairman, South-South, Ntufam Hilliard Eta. As expected, emergence of the three acting chairmen, who all started by issuing conflicting orders, could hurt the party’s June 22 governorship primaries in Edo as the Independent National Electoral Commission, IN...

Victor Giadom’s ‘Take Over’ Makes No Sense – Oshiomhole

The suspended National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, said last night that claim by Deputy National Secretary Victor Giadom that he had taken over as acting chairman is against common sense. According to him, the party is ruled by its guidelines. He spoke on a Channels Television programme. The Court of Appeal, he said, did not suspend the National Working Committee (NWC) from functioning and the constitution of the party states clearly who acts as the chairman in his absence. He said: “My advice to my brother, Victor, is about common sense – in the absence of the Chairman, there is nothing in our rules and the court can only interpret the rules of the party and the Constitution of Nigeria. Giadom in his maiden media conference announced the cancellation of the screening of the party’s governorship aspirants in Edo State. He has, therefore, asked all affected persons to return to the Party’s National Secretariat for a fresh screening exercise on Wednesday and Thursday. The Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal, on Tuesday, affirmed the suspension of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Adams Oshiomhole by his Ward. In a unanimous judgment, a three-man panel of justices of the appellate court held that appeal Oshiomhole lodged to challenge his suspension lacked merit. APC Can’t Bend Rules In Favour Of Obaseki – Oshiomhole:

Adams Oshiomhole, national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), says the party cannot bend its rules in favour of Godwin Obaseki, governor of Edo state. The APC screening committee had disqualified Obaseki from participating in the governorship primary election in Edo scheduled for June 22, but it cleared Osagie Ize-Iyamu believed to be supported by Oshiomhole for the exercise. There are now speculations that Obaseki, who is seeking a second term, will be defecting to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), after he had met with some PDP governors. Oshiomhole after meeting with Ibrahim Gambari, chief of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday, said he does not know the governor’s move, and that the APC has rules governing it and everybody irrespective of status is e...

Speaking with state house correspondents on Tuesday, Obaseki accused Oshiomhole of high-handedness. The governor, who has been having a running battle with Oshiomhole, was disqualified from the 2019 APC primary election. Asked if he would provide a level playing ground for the primary election to hold in the state, Obaseki said: “He (Oshiomhole) has not provided a level playing ground even in the selection process, the disqualification process: what is the basis for disqualifying someone like Chris Ogiemwonyi? “You are afraid of people who are educated because you didn’t go to school. The embattled governor of Edo state, Godwin Obaseki had his moment not too long ago and almost brought down Adam Oshiomhole, the National Chairman of the All Progressives (APC). Mr Obaseki, other APC governors, and some ministers from the South-South had put in all their political might in a plot to remove Mr Oshiomhole before the commencement of the party governorship primaries. And, of course, that appeared to be the safest route for Mr Obaseki to easily pick the APC ticket to run for a second term as Edo governor after a once-promising relationship between him and Mr Oshiomhole became horribly sour. The ongoing clash between the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, and the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomhole, continued on Saturday when the governor described the party chairman as a man without character. Oshiomhole had, after the Supreme Court judgment that gave the Peoples Democratic Party victory in the Bayelsa State governorship election on Thursday, stated that nobody would be sworn in the South-South state the following day. But the swearing-in held amid protests and violence, leading to declaration of a three-day curfew in the state. Wike also dismissed Oshiomhole’s claim that he (Wike) was a violent politician, adding that the APC national chairman’s bitterness stemmed from the fact that he and his political party were stopped fro...

Former President of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Mr Peter Esele, has called for the removal of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole as the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) over his poor handling of the party’s affairs. In a statement on Saturday titled: “APC: Time for Adams Oshiomhole to go,” the former Labour leader blamed the loss of Bayelsa state by the APC on Oshiomhole’s complicity in fielding an ineligible candidate for the state governorship election. He said that Oshiomhole’s utterances have also become a source of embarrassment for the APC, warning that the ruling party must do all that was necessary to defend the institutions of the state. While recalling the loss of Zamfara state to the opposition, the Edo state-born Labour activist warned that ...

Arrest Oshiomhole For Treasonable Comment – Tope Akinyode To FG

Tope Akinyode, a human rights lawyer, has asked the federal government to arrest and prosecute Adams Oshiomhole, national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for treason. On Thursday, Oshiomhole said no governor would be sworn in in Bayelsa state  on Friday after the supreme court sacked David Lyon, APC candidate who was declared winner of the November governorship election in the state. In a statement, Akinyode, who is the national president of the Revolutionary Lawyers’ Forum, said the APC chairman’s statement was mischievous and an attempt to overthrow the state government. “We are a bit taken aback by Oshiomhole’s obvious lopsided reasoning which embraces the Supreme Court over Hope Uzodinma’s declaration as winner of the Imo governorship election despite public o...

We have been capturing every single detail as we fast approach the Edo State elections. It has been intriguing all the way albeit for a sudden turn in the introduction of explosives. Already reporters covering the Edo elections are jittery over their personal safety since the last two weeks. Oppositional figures have had their houses targeted with explosives and there is an uneasy calm on the state presently. Today the supreme court gave its verdict on the Bayelsa Elections and have nullified the victory of David Lyon as governor-elect of Bayelsa State, barely 24 hours to his inauguration. With the news o...

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomhole has said the Supreme Court’s judgment annulling the party’s victory in Bayelsa State lacks the fruit of justice. Oshiomhole said this at a media briefing in Abuja, on Thursday, signaling the party’s intention to challenge the judgment in court. If Crisis Will Help Us Win Election, Then We Need More Crisis In APC – Oshiomhole

The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, has boasted that the speculated crises rocking the ruling party did not reflect in the party’s electoral victories in the polls conducted so far. The APC boss, who dropped the hint while playing host to Kano State chapter of the party recently, also joked that if a crisis is what it takes to win elections, he won’t mind the continuation of more crises. While addressing a delegation led by the Governor of Kano State, Umar Ganduje, Oshiomhole quipped: “On my part, the victories we recorded especially in this rerun election is very timely. “When I pick up newspapers and see where they are writing that APC is in crisis, and by the time you turn to the next page they will announce that APC has won this or that...

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, Threatens to Expel Adams Oshiomole from APC

The faceoff between Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki and the APC National chairman, Adams Oshiomole, has taken a new turn with the state governor threatening to expel Oshiomole from the party if he continues his ''anti-party'' activities. Obaseki's faction of the APC in December 2019, suspended Oshiomole from its party. Both men have been at loggerheads over who should control the affairs of the party in the state. Obaseki handed down the threat when he spoke at a meeting of the 18 APC local government chairmen in the state. Reacting to the political rally Oshiomole organised last weekend in Auchi, Etsako West local government area where thousands of people from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) defected to the APC, the governor said former governor would not have tolerated a f...
