EFCC busts 12 suspected ‘Yahoo boys’ in Ibadan

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 12 suspected internet fraudsters in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital. EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren announced the operation in a statement on Friday. The alleged scammers were apprehended at Alapata and Awotan areas of Ibadan. The suspects, mostly undergraduates, were nabbed following intelligence on their alleged involvement in internet-related crimes. Fraudulent documents and other instruments allegedly used in committing the crimes were recovered. Uwujaren said a Toyota Corolla, sophisticated phones and laptops were also seized by operatives. The suspects will be charged to court at the completion of investigations.

Nigerian student arrested for peddling cocaine a year after he was released from prison in India

A 33-year-old Nigerian student has been arrested with four grams of cocaine in Panjagutta, Hyderabad, India. The accused, Daniel Ayotunde Olamide, was recently released from prison after serving time for drug peddling. Another accused, John Paul, 37, also from Nigeria and living in Delhi, is on the run. Olamide was apprehended by the South Zone Commissioner's Task Force at GVK Mall, Punjagutta, on Saturday, October 2, 2021, after a tip off. Suspected Nigerian peddler arrested with drugs worth over N10m in India

A 30-year-old Nigerian national has been arrested in Mumbai by the Anti Narcotics Cell (ANC) with drugs worth over N10m. The accused identified as Chikou Jerome Amen was nabbed when he had come to deliver the contraband substance on Thursday, May 20. A total of 150 grams of mephedrone (MD) worth ?18 lakh was seized from him. Acting on a specific information, a team from Bandra unit of ANC laid a trap at K C Road in Bandra west on Thursday afternoon and apprehended Amen at the scene.
