Justice Bello Duwale of the Sokoto State High Court, sitting in Sokoto on Thursday, April 1, 2021, convicted and sentenced a fraudster, Hamzat Muhammad Bashar, to seventy years imprisonment without an option of fine. Justice Duwale pronounced his verdict on Bashar after he was found guilty of obtaining Twenty Nine Million Eight Hundred and Sixty-Five Thousand Naira (N29,865,000.00) by false pretense. Two men have been arranged for their alleged involvement in Internet Fraud. The suspects, Aremu Ridwan Kunle and Adegboyega Adisa Adebayo were arraigned on Thursday, March 18 by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC before Justice Iyabo Yerima of the Oyo State High Court, sitting in Ibadan. Abuja Court Convicts 33 Over Violation of COVOD-19 Protocols

33 persons who were arrested and arraigned for not wearing facemasks in public places, have been convicted by an Abuja Mobile Court. Some of the convicts who reportedly violated the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Health Protection Regulation, 2021 which was approved by President Muhammadu Buhari, pleaded guilty to the charges read out by the prosecutor and were fined N2,000 with an option of engaging in supervised community service.
