Former Vice President of the US, Mike Pence underwent surgery to have a pacemaker implanted on him on Wednesday, April 14, after experiencing "symptoms associated with a slow heart rate" over the last two weeks. China Locks Down a City of 11 Million people to Contain a Coronavirus flare-up

China has locked down a city of 11 million people in its northern province of Hebei, in order to contain the country's worst coronavirus flare-up in months. Residents of Shijiazhuang, a provincial capital close to Beijing, have been barred from leaving the city, as major highways were blocked, train and bus stations closed and flights canceled. The lockdown comes as a total of 117 Covid-19 infections including 67 asymptomatic cases were detected in Shijiazhuang on Wednesday. On Thursday, Shijiazhuang identified another 66 positive cases, according to the Hebei provincial health commission. No State is COVID-19 Free- NCDC Chikwe Ihekweazu

Chikwe Ihekweazu, Director-General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), has said that no state in the country is COVID-19 free. Ihekweazu said this today June 22 while speaking at the daily briefing of the presidential task force in Abuja. Zambia’s Information Minister Tests Positive for Coronavirus

Zambia's Information and Broadcasting Minister Dora Siliya on Saturday May 23, announced that she has tested positive for Coronavirus. Siliya went into self-isolation after revealing that she is asymptomatic (has not shown any symptom) and does not feel ill.  Siliya who confirmed this in a short video she shared on Twitter, said she tested positive despite taking all precautions such as masking, washing hands and keeping social distancing. Siliya also urged citizens to stay calm and observe hygiene and social distancing measures. 11 Coronavirus Patients Discharged in Oyo

The Oyo state government on Friday May 15, discharged 11 Coronavirus patients from the Oyo State Infectious Disease Centre, Olodo, Ibadan after they tested negative twice for the virus. Coordinator of the State Isolation and treatment Centres, Professor Temitope Alonge who made the announcement said the patients who comprise of eight males and three females stayed at the isolation between five days and two weeks. They were also asymptomatic all through the period of the treatment at the centre which also houses an entire family.
