The abduction of yet an unspecified number of undergraduates of the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Benue State, is one abduction too many. It marks both an unacceptable escalation and an expansion of this menace, and we must not only ensure that the abducted youths are rescued, but even more importantly, we must put in measures to prevent future reoccurrences. This must not be allowed to become our new normal. It is time for us as a nation to face the reality that we have an emergency on our hands. FinCEN Files: US Places Atiku, Wives, Under International Banking Surveillance

Secret U.S. government documents reveal that JPMorgan Chase, HSBC and other big banks have defied money laundering crackdowns by moving staggering sums of illicit cash for shadowy characters and criminal networks that have spread chaos and undermined democracy around the world. The records show that five global banks — JPMorgan, HSBC, Standard Chartered Bank, Deutsche Bank and Bank of New York Mellon — kept profiting from powerful and dangerous players even after U.S. authorities fined these financial institutions for earlier failures to stem flows of dirty money. U.S. agencies responsible for enforcing money laundering laws rarely prosecute megabanks that break the law, and the actions authorities do take barely ripple the flood of plundered money that washes through the interna...

Edo 2020: “Turn Out En-Masse And Vote Obaseki”- Atiku Urge Voters

The Presidential Candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party in the 2019 General Elections, Atiku Abubakar, has urged the people of Edo State to cast and defend their votes for Governor Godwin Obaseki. The democracy that we enjoy today was bought at a great price. We can only deepen and sustain it by respecting the sanctity of the ballot and necessary review of our electoral processes. As the great people of Edo State go to the polls to elect their governor this weekend, they need to be provided with a secured environment to cast their votes and be assured that their votes will count. I urge all duly registered voters of conscience and who truly care about the wellbeing of Edo to turn out enmasse to cast and defend their vote for @GovernorObaseki.

Atiku Abubakar Reacts To Fuel Price Hike

I reject the increased electricity tariffs. Coming out of the lockdown, Nigerians need a stimulus, not an impetuous disregard for the challenges they face. Many Nigerians have not earned an income for months, due to no fault of theirs. This increase is ill-timed and ill-advised.

Femi Falana, a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and counsel to Omoyele Sowore, has fired back at presidential spokesperson Garba Shehu for saying his client lied about the mission of a delegation led by the late Ismaila Isa Funtua, an ally of the president who visited him while in custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).   Falana who accused Shehu of attempting to distort the proceedings of the meetings, recalled how he and other patriots teamed up in 2006 to campaign for the release of Shehu, who was the spokesperson of former Vice-President Atiku Abukakar at that time.   According to him, the presidential spokesperson was detained by the DSS State and charged with the offence of  “obtaining, reproducing and keeping classified material” in contravention of ...
