Manchester City Announce Sergio Aguero’s Exit

Manchester City has announced that their top striker, Sergio Aguero, will leave the club at the end of the season when his contract expires. Aguero’s deal with the Premier League leaders will end at the end of the current season and City said they are not renewing. Aguero, now 32, joined the club in a £35 million deal from Atletico Madrid in July 2011 and has gone on to win four Premier League titles . “Sergio’s contribution to Manchester City over the last 10 years cannot be overstated,’ said City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak. “His legend will be indelibly etched into the memories of everyone who loves the Club and maybe even in those who simply love football. “This is not yet the moment for farewell words and speeches. There is still much to achieve in the re...

Bayern Join Chase For Nigerian Midfielder, Olise

Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have joined the chase for Reading’s young Nigerian midfielder Michael Olise. The Champions League holders have joined the likes of PSG, Lyon, Atletico Madrid, AC Milan and Juventus for Olise. Bayern have already secured Royals left-back Omar Richards on a pre-contract, which will see him move to Bavaria on a free transfer. But they are not ready to stop there, with the highly-rated Olise now very much on their radar. The 19-year-old can move to the continent for a nominal amount of compensation. However, given that he’s regarded as one of the top young midfielders in the country, he should fetch a decent fee. Olise is a French youth international, who is also still wanted by England, but he is out-of-contract at the Madejski Stadium this su...

Luis Suarez in Shock Return to Liverpool

Atletico Madrid striker, Luis Suarez, could be set for a shock return to Liverpool if Mohammed Salah leaves this summer, Fichajes reports. Suarez was a cult hero at Anfield until he left to join Barcelona in 2014. The Uruguayan was however ditched by the Nou Camp club at the end of last season and moved to the Wanda Metropolitano. But the 34-year-old may not stay with Atletico, especially if Salah leaves Liverpool in a big-money move. Despite the fact that Suarez is approaching the end of his career, he has been in scintillating form this season. He has scored 19 goals in 25 games with Atletico leading the LaLiga title race. Suarez was talismanic at Liverpool after joining from Ajax in 2011, netting 82 times in 133 appearances.

Diego Costa’s new Club Confirmed after Atletico departure

Diego Costa has reached an agreement with Benfica, according to Mundo Deportivo. The Portugese giants tabled an offer of a two-year contract worth £5million for the former Atletico Madrid striker. Costa left Atletico Madrid by mutual consent in December and has spent the last three months considering his options. The 32-year-old has now decided to stay on in Europe. He has turned down an offer by Ligue 1 side, Marseille to join them. That leaves an exciting chance to return to Portugal, where he previously played for Braga before heading for his first stint at Atletico Madrid in 2007. Benfica have offered him £2.6m a season to play for them and Costa has agreed to the move in principle.

Chelsea vs Porto: Vitor Baia predicts club to qualify for Champions League semi-finals

FC Porto Vice President, Vitor Baia, has backed his club as favourites to qualify for the Champions League semi-finals when they tackle Chelsea in the quarter-final first and second legs in April. Baia stressed he is confident Porto can eliminate Thomas Tuchel’s side out of the Champions League. Porto eliminated Juventus from the Champions League last-16, while Chelsea knocked Atletico Madrid out. “When you are in the quarter-finals of a competition of this level, any opponent is of great quality”, Vitor told Porto’s official website. “We’ve to prepare because we still have a lot to give in this Champions League campaign. “There’s confidence, but we know that we’re playing against a great team, who have been on the way back to their best since Thomas Tuchel too...

Real Reason Barcelona Didn’t re-sign Neymar – Eric Abidal

Former Barcelona’s Sporting Director, Eric Abidal, has given the real reason why the club didn’t re-sign Paris Saint-Germain forward, Neymar, in 2019. Abidal said that Barcelona would have brought Neymar back to Camp Nou if they had not signed Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2019. “Ten days before the end of the transfer window, I went to Paris to talk with Leonardo [PSG’s sporting director], and I was with my CEO [Oscar Grau], and we were talking about Neymar,” Abidal told the Telegraph. “I think if the CEO goes to Paris Saint-Germain, it’s because we can sign him. If we didn’t sign Griezmann before, I think 100 per cent we could have re-signed Neymar because what we needed was a winger, and when Neymar was in Barcelona, he was amazing. “T...

Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante looks five years younger – Joe Cole

Former Chelsea star, Joe Cole, has insisted that the club’s midfielder, N’Golo Kante, looks 5 years younger after his man of the match performance against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League round of 16 second-leg tie on Wednesday night. Kante was naturally influential at the base of Chelsea’s midfield, snuffing out attacks and making 13 ball recoveries overall against Atletico Madrid. The 29-year-old also made a significant contribution to the attacking side of the game and drew admiration from his manager, Thomas Tuchel, following a lung-busting run which helped create space for Palmieri’s goal deep in injury time. Chelsea defeated Diego Simeone’s side 2-0 at Stamford Bridge, thanks to two goals from Hakim Ziyech and Emerson Palmieri to qualify for the quarter-final on a...

Why I Played Ziyech in Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Atletico Madrid – Tuchel

Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel, has given reasons he featured Hakim Ziyech in Chelsea’s Champions League round of 16 second-leg 2-0 win over Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night. Tuchel said he played Ziyech against Atletico Madrid because the Moroccan international has good experience in the round of 16 during his time at Ajax. Ziyech and Emerson Palmieri got the goals on the night at Stamford Bridge, as Chelsea progressed on a 3-0 aggregate, having won 1-0 in the first leg. “He played today because he did it with Ajax, and he came to a semi-final. “He has good experience in the round of 16. He knows how it feels to arrive in the Knockout round and go through to the last eight. “The second reason he played is because he deserved it,” Tuchel said at his post-match press confe...
