Kwara State Governor Sacks official for Careless Handling of Suspected COVID-19 Patient

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has ordered the sack of a government driver attached to the state's COVID-19 Rapid Response Team RRT, who attended to a suspected COVID-19 patient “in an unprofessional manner”. On Wednesday, a video of the driver evacuating an "unkempt person" with the help of some persons was posted online. The moment the workers tried placing the man in a COVID-19 ambulance in Ilorin, was filmed and none of those who appeared in the clip wore any Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) recommended by the World Health Organisation. Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State has sympathised with victims of the building collapse in Ibadan, and ordered free treatment for the injured at government hospitals. Mr. Bolaji Tunji, Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy to the Governor, said this in a statement made available to newsmen on Saturday in Ibadan. A 42-years-old man, Julius Umukoro, has been knocked to death by a bullion van in Ughelli, Delta State.
