AFCON 2021: ‘Even my grandmother would have given Egypt penalty’ – Carlos Queiroz laments 1-0 loss to Nigeria

And the Portuguese head coach is alleging that his side was denied a penalty ten minutes to the end of the game. The Egyptian players were all over the referee, Bakary Gassama, to give them a penalty, insisting Moses Simon had fouled Zizo. Drama as Enugu Rangers goalkeeper refuses to leave pitch after red card

The first match of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) for the 2021/2022 season played at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina on Sunday between Katsina United and Enugu Rangers International was nearly marred with drama in the second half as the visiting side goalkeeper refused to leave the football pitch after he was awarded red card by the officiating referee. The tall lanky goalkeeper instead of working out of the pitch ran to the centre of the field, beating his chest while facing the direction of the home team fan in protest to the referee’s decision and apparently to waste playing time as his team were already in the lead with two goals to one. The fans responded in equal frenzy by booing him and daring him to come out of the pitch and face them. ...
