According to a report by The PUNCH, a boat carrying five passengers has capsized in Lagos State. It was gathered that the boat was heading to Badagry when the incident happened on Friday. An official of the Lagos State Waterways confirmed the incident, saying that the five passengers have been rescued. “No Cause for Alarm! Stray bullet kills 18-year-old student as security operatives clash with suspected rice smugglers in Badagry

An SS3 student was killed during a clash between security operatives of the Joint Border Patrol Team (JBPT) and suspected rice smugglers at Irosu village near Badagry. Alade Oba, 18, was hit by stray bullet and died on the spot during the clash with JBPT comprising Customs, Army and Immigration on Saturday, June 19. The JBPT, which was established in the aftermath of the border closure of August 2019, is yet to be disbanded. At least, no fewer than thirty buildings have been destroyed and several occupants displaced following heavy rainfall late Sunday into Monday, in the Iragon-Iragbo Communities, Badagry Local Government Area of Lagos State. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal office, has arrested six members of a syndicate of Internet fraudsters. The suspects were arrested at the Iyana Era, Badagry area of Lagos State. The suspects, Samuel Ndubisi, Samuel Gaza Tanko, Efe Godwin Okoye, Onyekachi Emanuel, Sari Isaac Felix and Ahmed Quadri, were arrested during a sting operation carried out by operatives of the Commission on February 13, 2019. Three women have been arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency in Badagry, Lagos State.
