Bayelsa NANNM raises alarm of quack nurses in private hospitals

The leadership of the Bayelsa State chapter of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) has expressed worries over the increased rate of quacks in the profession, saying that the ugly trend is giving nursing a bad name. The State Chairman of NANNM, Comrade Sonia Andabai, who made the disclosure in a media chat with DAILY POST in Yenagoa, the state capital, said the practice of quackery is more prevalent in the private hospitals and clinics. Andabai appealed to those running private clinics as well as other professional colleagues to desist from training quack nurses, emphasising that anyone caught will not be spared as the NANNM Bayelsa council is on their trail.

Bayelsa media practitioner, Bodmas Prince Kemepadei, has shown off the results of his HIV, Gonorrhea, Syphilis and other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) tests which were all confirmed negative.   MCI  reported that the married father of three, who is in support of polygamy, had faced barrage of criticism from Nigerians online after he advised women not to leave their men for having multiple partners.   He also made several comments on Facebook and blog posts saying that there is nothing wrong with men having multiple partners.   Taking to Facebook on Friday, May 7, Kemepadei posted his test results and challenged all the critics and saints to do same.   See the photos below...

The Bayelsa state Government has confirmed the death of a Coronavirus patient from complications linked to the disease. The Director of Public Health in the state’s ministry of health and member of the state COVID-19 task force committee, Dr Jones Stowe who confirmed the death of the patient said the deceased is one of the two military personnel who were among the new cases announced in the state few days ago. Daily Trust reported that the deceased died after suffering from Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) and other related complications days after testing positive for Coronavirus. The Bayelsa State Governor, Mr Seriake Dickson, Thursday said that the state government has yet to get any financial assistance from the federal government to alleviate the plight of persons affected by the ravaging flood in the state.
