Thomas Tuchel confirms return of two Chelsea top stars

Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that N’Golo Kante will return to the squad for Thursday’s Premier League clash with Everton. Thomas Tuchel spoke at a press conference ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League clash with Everton on Thursday. Kante has not played since Chelsea’s 4-0 victory over Juventus in November, with the Blues winning just two of their five games in that period. Chelsea have also been without former Real Madrid ace Mateo Kovavic and Italy international Jorginho in recent weeks with the German gaffer forced to call upon Reece James to play in midfield in their recent Champions League clash against Zenit St Petersburg. Kante alongside Trevoh Chalobah are now returning to the squad who was forced off injured against Watford earlier this month. “N’Golo Ka...

Tuchel gives injury update on Kante, Kovacic ahead of Everton game

Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel, has said midfielder N’Golo Kante will return to training on Tuesday. Mateo Kovacic continues to recover from COVID-19 after suffering with symptoms. The Blues face Everton in the Premier League on Thursday. Tuchel has been without both players for a few games and he is desperate to get midfield reinforcements back to help the Italy international. Kante’s return to training on Tuesday could see him involved on Thursday, while Tuchel remained a little vague on when Kovacic will be available for selection again. “It is absolutely crucial [to have them back] because Jorgi is sacrificing in the middle of the pitch in games like today when you need two players to drive the ball and pick up good spaces in midfield. “It would have been the perfec...

Chelsea close to agreeing deals with two players

Chelsea have made a major breakthrough in their bid to tie down defenders Thiago Silva and Andreas Christensen to new deals. Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the Premier League side are “close” to agreeing new deals with the two players Silva, 37, arrived at Stamford Bridge on a free transfer in August 2020 from Paris Saint-Germain. The Brazilian centre-back has since silenced his doubters, playing a key role as Thomas Tuchel’s men won the Champions League. However, there has been uncertainty surrounding Silva’s future, with Chelsea already resigned to the fact they may lose Antonio Rudiger. Christensen, 25, is also set to become a free agent at the end of the season as it stands. But Chelsea are increasingly confident both players will still be on board next term. It is...

Why Chelsea rely on Mason Mount – Tuchel

Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel has insisted that his team rely on Mason Mount because the midfielder plays in an offensive position. According to Tuchel, Mount has the technique, ability and movement to assist and score goals. Mount was impressive for Chelsea over the weekend as he scored a goal in Chelsea’s 3-2 victory over Leeds United. His past five Premier League starts have yielded six goals. “We rely on him [Mason Mount] because he plays in an offensive position,” Tuchel was quoted by Chelsea’s official website as saying ahead of the Blues Premier League tie with Everton on Thursday. “He needs to be decisive and assist and score because he has the technique, the ability and the movement to do so. It’s about timing, acceleration and knowing where and when to arrive in th...

David James names club to win Premier League title this season

Former England goalkeeper David James has named Chelsea as the club to win the English Premier League title this season. He believes Chelsea is the ‘team to beat’ ahead of title rivals Liverpool and Manchester City who are currently above the Blues in the league table. Chelsea won nine of their first 12 league games to move ahead of defending champions Man City and 2020 winners Liverpool but have dropped points at home to Manchester United at the end of last month and suffered a 3-2 defeat to West Ham last week to fall behind their title rivals. “I’m glad Chelsea won today [against Leeds] because they are the team to beat for me,” ex-goalkeeper James told Stadium Astro. “I’ve actually tipped them not to be top of the table come Christmas based on the games they’re got comin...

Nobody is bigger than Chelsea – Tuchel warns Rudiger

Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel, has warned centre-back, Antonio Rudiger, that ‘nobody is bigger than the club, amid the player’s current contract situation at Stamford Bridge. Rudiger has been impressive for Chelsea since Tuchel took over from Frank Lampard in January. The defender has started 14 of Chelsea’s opening 15 Premier League games so far this season. But his contract at Chelsea will expire at the end of the season and he is free to sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign teams from January 1, 2022, if an agreement with the Blues over a new deal is not reached by then. Talks over a new deal for Rudiger have hit a stumbling block because Chelsea are believed to be reluctant to meet his demands of a salary in excess of £200,000-a-week. Speaking during his pre-mat...

Rudiger offered £400,000 to leave Chelsea

Antonio Rudiger has been offered a whopping £400,000-a-week deal to leave Chelsea. The German defender is entering the final months of his current deal with the Blues and will be free to talk and reach contract agreement with foreign clubs from next month onwards. Thomas Tuchel’s side had hoped to persuade the German international to extend his stay, but are increasingly resigned to losing him. Chelsea have made an offer believed to be worth around £140,000-a-week but the defender felt he deserved a much bigger salary on par with the club’s highest earners. The Daily Mail reports that tentative early talks have made it clear that Rudiger’s suitors are prepared to offer him as much as £400,000-a-week including bonuses and add-ons. Rudiger has had interests from Juventus, Ba...

Rio Ferdinand names Ridiculous talent in Chelsea’s Squad after 3-3 Draw with Zenit

Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand, has identified defender Reece James as a ‘ridiculous talent’ in Chelsea’s squad following the Blues’ Champions League 3-3 draw with Zenit at St Petersburg on Wednesday night. A brace from Timo Werner and a strike from Romelu Lukaku ensured Chelsea played a draw against Zenit. However, Claudinho, Sardar Azmoun and Magomed Ozdoyev did score for the host in Russia. During the encounter, Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel, featured right-sided defender, James in an unusual central midfield role, with N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic injured and Ruben Loftus-Cheek rested. But Ferdinand believes James was dominating, passing and breaking things up during the encounter. Speaking about James, Ferdinard told BT Sport, “He’s a ridicul...

Chelsea striker, Timo Werner has said he would like the team to face Bayern Munich in the Champions League round of 16. The Blues have finished runners-up in Group H following their 3-3 draw at Zenit on Wednesday. Werner scored twice, as the current holders lost their top spot to Juventus in the final round of games. After the game, Werner was not afraid to pick the next club he wants Chelsea to face in the competition. “Who do I want to play next? Why not go back to Germany [to play Bayern] and show how good we are,” he said. Chelsea will not be paired against Juve, but they can face non-English clubs who topped their groups. That includes Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Ajax.

Champions League: Rio Ferdinand names three teams to win trophy

Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand, has named three favourite clubs to win the UEFA Champions League this season. Ferdinand was asked to name the main Champions League contenders for this season after Liverpool became the first Premier League side to win all six of their Champions League group games on Tuesday night. Recall that Liverpool defeated AC Milan 2-1 at San Siro last night, thanks to Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi’s goals. But Ferdinand believes Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City are the three favourites to win this season’s Champions League. “I don’t see past the three English teams, Bayern might stake a claim, but they [Chelsea, Man City and Liverpool] are so powerful and have who I think are the three best managers,” Ferdinand told BT Sport. “When you...
