Police Arrest Three Oyo Hunters For Killing & Burning Of Fulani Huts

The Oyo State Police Command has arrested three local hunters in connection with the murder of three people and the burning of Fulani huts on March 14. The arrested hunters were identified as Karimu Yusuf, Isaac Isaiah and Sunday Isaac. They were alleged to have stormed the Fulani huts to retaliate for the killing of a farmer on March 12. The farmer was reportedly attacked by Fulani robbers, who still killed him after his wife was able to give them N25,000. The following day, March 13, another man escaped death by the whiskers, as he was also attacked by suspected Fulani herders, sustaining injuries. Three members of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) were on Wednesday docked before Chief Magistrate Olaide Hamzat of the Oyo State Chief Magistrate Court sitting at Iyaganku in Ibadan over allegations of murder and arson. The trio; Awodele Adedigba (45); Dauda Kazeem (38) and Hassan Ramon (33) were presented before the court on a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy, murder and arson. Abia State Police Command has debunked a viral video in which homes of people said to be Fulani herdsmen were burnt in a Sunday attack in Ogboko Ozuitem, Bende local government area of the state. The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a man identified as Idowu Sikiru for burning his 5-year-old son's buttock, mouth and fingers for stealing cooked fish. Sikiru who committed the said offence at Itowo in Oke Sopen area of Ijebu Igbo, Ogun State was arrested after a member of the public alerted the police. The office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ogidi, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra was on Sunday gutted by fire.
