Ganduje, Others Reconcile Dangote, BUA Over Sugar Plant

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano state has waded into the dispute between Dangote and BUA companies owned by two business moguls from the state. This is in order to resolve the lingering conflict among the two Kano State prominent indigenes Aliko Dangote and Abdussamad Isyaka-Rabi’u over the establishment of a Sugar plant by BUA. A statement by Abba Anwar, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor on Thursday in Kano, said the reconciliation meeting took place on Wednesday in Abuja. He said that Alhaji Aminu Dantata, Kano Emirate and the Kano State Council of Imams joined the governor in the reconciliation meeting. CBN Governor Accuses Nigerian Business Moguls Of Using Illegal Markets (Video)

CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, has accused some local and foreign investors of buying dollars from the parallel market, popularly referred to as 'black market',  As the apex bank struggles to stabilise the currency exchange rate. A dollar was sold for N460 at the parallel market on Wednesday, which is higher than the interbank rate of N361 to a dollar. More so, the dwindling oil prices caused by the Coronavirus pandemic have greatly affected the country's economy and have reduced the dollars in circulation. Olujonwo Obasanjo, the son of Olusegun Obasanjo, a former President, and Tolulope Adebutu, the daughter of Kessington Adebutu, owner of Premier Lotto 'Baba Ijebu' had their traditional wedding on Thursday. This comes after Mrs. Taiwo Obasanjo had raised an alarm over her son’s wedding, saying the dates chosen, May 11th and 13th would lead to strange deaths and plane crashes. The former first lady also said she received prophesies and warnings from men of God to the effect that Olujonwo, her son who turns 34 on June 1, should not do or be involved in any elaborate celebration before his birthday. The event which was held at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos was attended by politicians, traditional rulers, and business moguls.
