A waitress was stripped naked and beaten by a gang of men in Cameroon and the assault, which lasted for several hours, was filmed. The 27-year-old was beaten with twigs, sexually assaulted and humiliated by the mob in Yaoundé on November 15, according to Human Rights Watch. The footage of the assault was circulated in two videos on social media and shows Sara (not real name) being hit several times by the group. According to medical reports, the victim suffered multiple hematomas all over her body as a result of the assault. Doctors also said that Sara needed to be monitored for 15 to 18 days due to the severe and shocking injuries she sustained. 2022 World Cup: Nigeria to face any of Egypt, Ghana, Cameroon in play-offs [Full list]

Nigeria will face any of Egypt, Ghana or Cameroon in the 2022 World Cup qualifying play-offs next year. This follows the completion of the African zone round. The Super Eagles are among the top five ranked countries, following their 1-1 draw with Cape Verde on Tuesday. The others include Morocco, Senegal, Algeria and Tunisia. Number of IDPs increased in past year by one million – Refugee commission

The National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI) has said that the internally displaced persons in the country increased by one million in the past one year due to humanitarian crisis. The disclosure was made on Monday November 8, when Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, the federal commissioner for the NCFRMI appeared before the house of representatives committee on internally displaced persons (IDPs). The Central African Republic will host Nigeria in a World Cup qualifier in Douala, Cameroon instead of their country. This is because of a standing order from the Confederation of African Football (CAF). In August this year, CAF barred eight countries from hosting World Cup qualifiers.
