EPL: Thomas Tuchel Promotes Chelsea Youngster to First-team Squad

Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel, has promoted youngster Levi Colwill to the first-team squad until the end of the season because of Andreas Christensen’s injury, Goal reports. Christensen sustained a tendon problem during Chelsea’s 2-1 win against Manchester City earlier this month. The centre-back has not been able to train since then. However, Tuchel has now drafted Colwill in as cover for Christensen. Colwill has impressed for Chelsea’s development side this summer. Another player promoted is Billy Gilmour, but the Scottish youngster had an unhappy night as Chelsea lost 1-0 against Arsenal on Wednesday night. Gilmour was substituted at half-time by Tuchel, who sent on Callum Hudson-Odoi in his place and deployed Mason Mount in a deeper role.

Man City vs Chelsea: What Guardiola told me About Champions League Final – Thomas Tuchel

Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel has said that his Manchester City counterpart, Pep Guardiola has told him the tactics he (Pep) would deploy when both sides clash in the Champions League final later this month. Pep Guardiola and Tuchel have met twice since the German replaced Frank Lampard at Stamford Bridge in January. And the former PSG boss has had the upper hand guiding Chelsea to a 1-0 win over City in their FA Cup semi-final showdown at Wembley last month, and coming from behind to beat them 2-1 in the Premier League at the Etihad Stadium. Tuchel will now be hoping that the same outcome occurs when they clash on May 29, which, of course, will be the biggest of the victories. Ahead of the kick-off of the Premier League game on Saturday, both Tuchel and Guardiola w...

Man City vs Chelsea: Thomas Tuchel Gives Verdict on Raheem Sterling’s Foul on Werner

Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel, believes Raheem Sterling was fortunate to stay on the field after a late foul on Timo Werner during Chelsea’s 2-1 victory against Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday. Goals from Hakim Ziyech and Marcos Alonso gave Chelsea all three points against Man City as Sterling’s first-half goal was not enough to give Pep Guardiola’s side a point at Etihad. Sterling made a late high foul on Werner, but after a VAR check, they stayed with referee Anthony Taylor’s initial decision of a yellow card. When asked about his thoughts on Sterling demanding a penalty after being involved in a clash with Kurt Zouma in the second half during the encounter, Tuchel said at his post-match press conference, “I only saw it live and I was in fear that h...

UCL: Tuchel Names Chelsea Player that got bad Message from him in 2-0 win over Real Madrid

Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel has revealed that Christian Pulisic got a bad message from him (Tuchel) after the American was dropped on the bench for the victory over Real Madrid. The German tactician was explaining why he picked Kai Havertz over Pulisic in the second leg semi-final clash at Stamford Bridge. He suggested that Havertz’s height was a factor in picking the German over Pulisic in his starting XI. Pulisic started and scored Chelsea’s only goal in the first leg in Spain last week but was named among the subs for Wednesday’s clash at Stamford Bridge. Tuchel explained his decision to drop the USA international, suggesting Havertz’s greater aerial presence at set-pieces was a key factor. “Christian got a bad message today, unfortunately, but I am pretty s...

UCL: Thomas Tuchel Reveals Chelsea Player Giving him Headache Ahead of Real Madrid tie

Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel has said that his countryman, Kai Havertz is giving him a selection headache ahead of their Champions League semi-final second leg clash against Real Madrid on Wednesday. Chelsea and Real Madrid settled for a 1-1 in Spain last Tuesday, with Christian Pulisic scoring for the Blues and veteran striker, Karim Benzema equalising for the home side. The second leg is slated for Wednesday and Havertz has fired warning to Zinedine Zidane’s men by scoring twice in the Blues’ 2-0 win over Fulham on Saturday and will now be pushing for a start against the La Liga giants. He was a 66th-minute substitute in the 1-1 first leg draw in Spain and when asked if the Germany international had given him a selection headache, Chelsea boss Tuchel told talkSPORT:...

Lukaku vs Haaland: Chelsea Coach, Tuchel Picks Between both Strikers

Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel, would prefer the club to make a transfer move for Inter Milan’s Romelu Lukaku instead of Dortmund’s Erling Haaland. Lukaku and Haaland have been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea this summer transfer. The Sport Bild reported that Lukaku is on Tuchel’s shortlist of strikers he wants the Chelsea board to sign this summer as Tammy Abraham is out of favour and Timo Werner missing a string of glorious chances for the Blues this season. Tuchel actually wants Lukaku, having ‘fallen in love with the Belgium international. The German believes Lukaku is the ‘polished’ striker that could slide into his team next season. Thomas Tuchel Names Nigerian-born Midfielder in Chelsea Squad Against Real Madrid

Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel has included Nigerian-born youngster Tino Anjorin, in the Blues’ squad against Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-final first leg tie in Spain on Tuesday. Anjorin, 19, has made just five appearances for Chelsea and only started a dead rubber against Krasnador in the Champions League group stages in December. Experienced midfielder and former Real Madrid star, Mateo Kovacic will not be part of the show in Spain, having failed to recover from a hamstring issue. Kovacic is, however, the only absentee in Thomas Tuchel’s squad for the trip to Madrid but the German tactician is clearly keen on having reinforcements in midfield, with the 19-year-old Anjorin selected to travel with the Chelsea squad for the first leg. Chelsea booked their place in the semi-finals for the first time in seven years after a 2-1 aggregate win against Porto in Sevilla on Tuesday. Mehdi Taremi struck at stoppage time to give Porto a 1-0 win but the victory was not enough to see the Portuguese through to the next round. Tuchel substituted Pulisic, who scored a goal against West Brom, before the start of the second half at Stamford Bridge. The American international was replaced by Mason Mount as goals from Matheus Pereira (2), Callum Robinson (2) and Mbaye Diagne gave West Brom all three points against Chelsea. But Tuchel is now saying that he substituted Pulisic during Chelsea’s defeat against West Brom because the 22-year-old complained about a hamstring problem. “Christian [Pulisic] did a sprint when he came back out for the second half and said that he felt his hamstring would not survive the game if he continued,” Tuchel sa...

Former Chelsea star, Chris Sutton, says the Blues can no longer be seen as top four contenders following the embarrassing defeat. Tuchel’s 14 games unbeaten start at Chelsea went up in smoke against the relegation threatened Baggies on Saturday. There were major changes in Tuchel’s lineup for the game with Mason Mount dumped on the bench and it seemed all smooth for the Blues when Christian Pulisic put the Blues ahead in the 26th minute. However, Thiago Silva got a second yellow card and was dismissed, triggering an astonishing capitulation which led to Chelsea’s heavy home defeat. Sutton said that the German gaffe...
