UK Prime minister, Boris Johnson Confirms up to 10,000 Football Fans will be Allowed at Sports Stadiums from 17 May

The English Premier League clubs will welcome up to 10,000 supporters inside stadiums for the final two rounds of fixtures. Saudi Arabia shuts movie theaters, halts dine-in services for 10 days amid spike in COVID-19 infections

Saudi Arabia on Thursday February 4, shut down entertainment centres including cinemas and suspended dine-in services at restaurants for 10 days amid a spike in COVID-19 infections.   The kingdom suspended "all events and parties" including weddings in banquet halls or hotels for 30 days, the interior ministry said in a statement released by the official Saudi Press Agency.   It also halted "all entertainment activities" including cinemas and gaming parlours and suspended dine-in services in all restaurants and cafes for 10 days, it added, warning that the suspension could be extended.   The measures, which will be implemented from 10.00 pm Thursday, February 4 are aimed at "preventing the outbreak of a second wave" of the pandemic, the ministry said. &n...

The Lagos state government has launched a Register-to-Open Initiative for religious and social centres, social clubs, event centres, restaurants, bars, night clubs, spas, cinemas and gyms ahead of the gradual re-opening of the state economy. To curb the spread of Coronavirus in the state, the Ogun state government  has banned large gatherings in places like cinemas, sports arena, restaurants and night clubs for the next 30 days. Why Sugar Rush was Banned in Cinemas ― NFVCB

The National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) has reacted to Nigerians agitation that the movie “Sugar Rush” be returned to cinemas. Yuletide: Nigerians Spent N359 Million In Cinemas

Movie lovers across Nigeria spent a total of N359 million in cinemas between December 21 and 27. This is according to data provided by the Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria and reported on Friday by TheCable. The five highest-grossing movies in the cinemas during the period were Aquaman, Chief Daddy, Bumblebee, Animated Spider -Man and God Calling. Aquaman grossed N168,434,137 while Chief Daddy grossed N101,979,343. King of Boys, Lionheart, Mary Poppins Returns, Mortal Engines and Grinch made up the other half of the top 10. The first movie theatre in Saudi Arabia can open in March, the Ministry of Culture and Information said Monday, lifting a 35-year-old ban on cinemas in the country, dpa reported. The Board of the General Commission for Audiovisual Media, the kingdom’s regulator, agreed to grant licenses to cinemas, the ministry adds.
