Boko Haram Kills 2 Policemen and 1 CJTF Member as Service Chiefs Visit Maiduguri

A military base and a police check-point in Borno State were reportedly attacked by Boko Haram insurgents on Sunday January 31, same day the newly appointed service chiefs arrived Maiduguri on an operational visit. Daily Trust reported that two policemen and one member of Civilian Joint Task Force were killed during the attack which occurred at the checkpoint along Maiduguri / Gubio highway by 12:30pm on Sunday. A security source said the insurgents burnt one utility vehicle and made away with another after they displaced the security personnel stationed at the joint checkpoint. Troops Kill Five Boko Haram Insurgents In Borno

Five members of the Boko Haram terrorists were neutralised during the encounter, following the superior fire power of the Nigerian troops. The Nigerian Army on Sunday said its troops had killed five Boko Haram insurgents in northern part of Borno. Boko Haram Slit Throat Of 1 Civilian, Stole 167 Cows

At least one civilian is confirmed dead and three others injured when Boko Haram terrorist struck a village near Maiduguri on Wednesday, a vigilante source said. Suspected terrorists stormed Kofa village along Bama road at 1:15am on Wednesday, stole  167 from a herd of cows. The source said the terrorists  operated for an hour unhindered. "They slit the throat of a civilian and 3 persons sustained various degree injuries. The source added that Nigerian troops later fired artillery guns thrice to scare the terrorists who fled with their loot. “We lost 167 of our cows to invaders but our troops, hunters and CJTF are in pursuit of the terrorists." said the source.

Nigerian Troops Repel Boko Haram Attack On Borno Town

Nigerian Army on Saturday repelled an attack by Boko Haram insurgents at Magumeri town, headquarters of Magumeri Local Government Area of Borno. A competent security source told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the insurgents attacked a military formation at Magumeri, about 32 km from Maiduguri the state capital. The source said that the insurgents attacked the area at about 6 p.m. and shot sporadically in an attempt to infiltrate the town. NSCDC Arrests Tricyclist For Snatching 15 Cellphones From Maiduguri Housewives

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) said it had arrested a 24-year-old tricyclist, Isah Ma’azu, for allegedly snatching 15 cell phones from housewives in Maiduguri. The Commandant of the Corps, Ibrahim Abdullahi, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) in Maiduguri. The Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) agreed to the measure as part of a new action plan signed in the northeastern Borno state capital, Maiduguri, Unicef said in a statement. Three Suicide Bombers Attack Maiduguri

Three suicide bombers on Friday night detonated explosives at Simari area of Maiduguri, the Borno state capital, killing themselves and wounding three members of the civilian joint task force. Satomi Ahmad, SEMA chairman, who confirmed the incident, said it happened around 9:30pm on the day. “No casualty has been recorded; three suicide bombers died. May almighty Allah continue to protect our dear state,” he said. “Unfortunately, two CJTF members sustained injury and evacuated successfully for treatment.” Maiduguri has come under intense attacks lately. Death Toll In Boko Haram Renewed Attacks On Maiduguri Rises

The Borno State Police Command on Wednesday confirmed that 19 people were killed in the latest deadly Boko Haram attacks in Maiduguri, Borno State in Nigeria’s troubled North East. A US 2017 trafficking in persons report has accused Nigeria of involving children under the age of 18 in its military operations in “hostile environments”. The report listed Nigeria among countries to face restriction for allegedly violating the child soldier prohibition act (CSPA), 2008. Other countries also accused of violating the act in the report include Democratic Republic of Congo, Mali, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria and Yemen.
