NDLEA intercepts cocaine, meth enroute UK, Saudi, others

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has said it frustrated drug traffickers’ desperate attempts to export large kilogrammes of cocaine, methamphetamine and cannabis in three different states of the country. NDLEA’s spokesperson Femi Babafemi said this in a statement on Sunday. Bababfemi said that operatives of the agency seized the consignments which were en route London, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirate and New Zealand, through two major courier firms in Lagos. He stated that some of the consignments were concealed in containers of body cream, tea bags, vehicle oil and air filters. Two Nigerians arrested in Malawi for alleged possession of cocaine

Two Nigerians have been arrested after being found with 11 grams of cocaine in Lilongwe, Malawi. The two suspects have been identified as 35-year-old Chinesi Omuka and Ejike Enebenchu, 29. Spokesperson for the Central West Police Region, Alfred Chinthere, who disclosed this on Friday, October 22, said the duo were nabbed at their home in  Area 49 following a tip-off. 11 grams of cocaine were recovered from them during the raid. Omuka and Ebenenchu are expected to appear before court soon to answer a charge of being found in possession of illicit drugs. Acccording to the police spokesperson, the second accused Enebenchu was in July this year convicted on the same charge. He paid a K200 thousand fine for the offence.

Nigerian student arrested for peddling cocaine a year after he was released from prison in India

A 33-year-old Nigerian student has been arrested with four grams of cocaine in Panjagutta, Hyderabad, India. The accused, Daniel Ayotunde Olamide, was recently released from prison after serving time for drug peddling. Another accused, John Paul, 37, also from Nigeria and living in Delhi, is on the run. Olamide was apprehended by the South Zone Commissioner's Task Force at GVK Mall, Punjagutta, on Saturday, October 2, 2021, after a tip off.
