Police arrest 1,146 suspects, get 426 convicted in Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested 1,146 suspects who are members of various high-profile criminal gangs. Of the number, 446 have been convicted by courts while 720 others are awaiting trial. The arrests, effected from January this year to date, were carried out by the Anti-kidnapping Unit, Anti- Shilla Squad, CID Personnel, SIB and other Divisional Police operatives of the command, in conjunction with hunters, Pulaku and Vilante members. The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested a notorious car snatcher, Faisal Salihu, at New Nyanya, Karu Local Government Area of the state. No fewer than 200 clubgoers and workers were arrested at popular Cubana Night Club in Lagos for an alleged breach of COVID19 protocols on Saturday, February 27. The new Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Mr Monday Bala Kuryas, has visited two spots in Mkpologwu, Aguata Local Government Area and Omogho in Orumba North, where gunmen attacked police patrol teams this morning. According to eye witnesses, the gunmen who drove in both a salon car and a Mercedes Benz 4Matic SUV, opened fire on the policemen who had been deployed on patrol in the two areas.
