Youths Attack Delta local Council Chairman, cart away rifles

The Chairman of Ethiope West council area of Delta State, Oghenedoro Owoso was on Tuesday May 4 attacked by some youths in Mosogar. The Nation reported that the council chairman was trying to pacify the youths who were protesting an eight-year blackout in the community when things took a different turn. A policeman attached to Owoso was injured during the attack, as the youths took away his rifle and another one belonging to a second security aide. Herdsmen flee Delta community as thunder strike kills 12 cows

Herdsmen on Sunday evening of May 2, ran away from Urhodo-Ovu community in Ethiope-East Local Government Area of Delta State as thunder strike killed 12 of their cows. The herdsmen and the cows were in their settlement when the incident occurred minutes after the heavy downpour, DAILY POST gathered. Indigenes and residents of the community especially farmers were, however, happy over the incident. At the time of filing this report, the 12 dead cows were still lying fallow on the ground. 48 New Cases of COVID-19 Recorded in Nigeria

48 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Nigeria on Monday, March 29, 2021. According to the Nigeria Center for Disease Control NCDC, Lagos recorded 13 new cases, the highest for the day. Other states with new cases include Kaduna-7, Nasarawa-7, Kano-6, Kwara-5, Ondo-4, Akwa Ibom-3, and Osun-3. The agency also disclosed that they were 28 community recoveries in Ekiti State managed in line with guidelines. A policeman and six members of the Boko Haram terrorist group have reportedly been killed in a gunfight in Yobe state.   Spokesman for the State Police Command, Dungus Abdulkarim told Channels Television that they are still gathering more information to give a definite number of casualties.   It was however gathered that the gunfight ensued after an evening attack by the insurgents on Babban Gida community,  the headquarters of Tarmuwa Local Government Area of Yobe State.
