RB Leipzig Mutually Part Company with Head Coach Jesse Marsch

RB Leipzig have mutually parted company with head coach Jesse Marsch after five months in charge. Defeat to Union Berlin on Friday was the club's third consecutive league defeat, with Marsch, previously in charge at Leipzig's sister club Red Bull Salzburg, overseeing 21 games in his short tenure. Assistant coach Achim Beierlorzer will take charge of the team ahead of the home game against Manchester City in the Champions League on Tuesday, with the German side already knocked out of the European cup competition. Leipzig say an announcement on Marsch's successor will be announced in the "near future". "I am very grateful to be...

‘Sugar daddy will pay for her rent this year but maybe not the consecutive years’- OAP Moet Abebe shares some of the things single ladies hear while trying to rent houses in Lagos

OAP Moet Abebe took to her Instastories to vent about the frustrations single women face while trying to rent a house in Lagos. In her post, Moet wondered what a lady's marital status has to do with renting a house. She also wondered if having a job and being a law-abiding citizen aren't enough factors to consider while renting a house. She pointed out that it becomes harder even as a famous lady as the landlords make comments like the lady must be ''promiscuous'', would be ''throwing parties and orgies in their properties'. According to her, the 'best' she has heard is that her ''sugar daddy might pay her rent this year but might not pay for the consecutive years''. Read her posts below...

Ogbonna header secures West Ham win at Everton

West Ham leapfrogged Everton in the Premier League as Angelo Ogbonna's 74th-minute header was enough to secure a hard-fought 1-0 victory at Goodison Park on Super Sunday. In a game low on quality in the final third, Ogbonna rose to meet Jarrod Bowen's set-piece as Everton suffered their first home defeat of the season after three consecutive victories. Alex Iwobi and Salomon Rondon both missed good chances either side of half-time to put the hosts in front but West Ham recorded successive league wins at Goodison Park for the first time since 1930 on David Moyes' return to his former club. The result moves West Ham up to sixth in the table as Everton slip to seventh and miss out on the chance to move into the top four.

We won’t start a war with China, but will defend ourselves full on – Taiwan Military says

Taiwan will not start a war with China but will defend itself "full on", Defence Minister Chiu Kuo-cheng said on Thursday, amid an increase in tensions between the pair that has raised concern internationally. Military tensions with China, which claims Taiwan as its own territory, are at their worst in more than 40 years, Chiu said last week, adding that China will be capable of mounting a "full-scale" invasion by 2025. This month alone, China mounted four consecutive days of mass air force incursions into Taiwan's air defence identification zone that began on Oct. 1, flying 77 planes into the Taiwanese air identification zone. No shots have been fired and China's aircraft have stayed well away from Taiwan's airspace, but Taiwan, a major worldwide semiconductor producer, has now...

Justin Thornton, 38, was taking part in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship 20 in Biloxi, Mississippi on August 20 when he sustained a brutal KO defeat. His opponent Dillon Cleckler caught him with a right punch just 19 seconds into the first round, sending him face-first to the canvas, before the referee ended the fight. According to his Facebook page, where a GoFundMe was set up shortly after the fight, he was taken straight to hospital and was partially paralyzed and put on a ventilator for several weeks. Bundesliga: Bayern Munich Beat Furth to go 3 Points Clear

Bayern Munich eased past hosts Greuther Fuerth 3-1 on Friday, in spite of playing almost the entire second half with 10 men. The win helped the defending champions to open up a three-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga. But Bayern Munich top goalscorer Robert Lewandowski saw his scoring streak snapped, after failing to equal Gerd Muller’s all-time record of scoring in 16 consecutive league games. It was always going to be a one-sided encounter against the newly-promoted club, bottom in the Bundesliga and without a win this season, and Bayern Munich took a quick lead. This was barely after just 10 minutes into the game with Thomas Muller slotting in from an Alphonso Davies cut-back. Joshua Kimmich was devastatingly accurate with a low drive on the half hour to sco...

Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudeau wins re-election but falls short of a majority

Justin Trudeau has won a third term as Canada's prime minister, but his decision to hold election early didn't really pay off as his bid to win a majority of seats failed. The Liberals (Trudeau's party) won the most seats of any party, taking hold of 157 - the same number they won in 2019, and 13 short of the 170 needed for a majority in the House of Commons. The result means Trudeau, 49, and his second consecutive minority government will have to rely on other parties to govern. Conservative Leader Erin O'Toole, whose party placed second, conceded defeat as results trickled in late into the night. Early results indicated the Conservatives had 121 seats, the same number they won in 2019. The leftist New Democrats won 29, the Quebec-based Bloc Québécois were down three seats t...

Hwang Nets on Debut as Wolves earn first win

Hee-Chan Hwang's debut goal helped earn Wolves their first points of the season as they beat a poor Watford side 2-0 at Vicarage Road. Coming into the game without a point or a goal to their name, it looked likely to be another painful afternoon for Wolves' new manager Bruno Lage after Nelson Semedo fired wide when clean through with an hour gone. But a helping hand from Watford's Francisco Sierralta, who headed into his own net from a low cross, finally got them off the mark with 15 minutes to go, and substitute Hwang then doubled the lead from close range after Marcal had hit the post. Wolves' victory ended Watford's club-record run of 10 straight league wins coming into the game, inflicting a third consecutive defeat on Xisco Munoz, and dropped them below Wolves, who jumped...

Nigerian-born martial arts champion, Kamaru Usman and his next opponent Jorge Masvidal have come face to face ahead of their highly-anticipated rematch at UFC 261. Masvidal, 36, was unable to defeat reigning champion Usman, 33, when the pair first met on Fight Island last year and is now looking to have another shot in Jacksonville, Florida on Saturday night, April 24. 'I do my math on everybody,' the American said on Thursday, April 22. 'Being in there for 25 minutes it makes me know that my math is a lot more sharper. 'One thing is thinking in your head and one thing is feeling the strength level, the endurance, his rhythm, how he moves, how he is thinking, how he reacts to certain situations. 'So I take that blueprint and bring it into my next fight, execute my maths...

Man United Come From Behind To Beat Tottenham Hotspursm, Stretch Unbeaten  Away Run

The win at Spurs means Man United are now unbeaten in 23 consecutive away Premier League games – the second-longest streak in English top-flight history. Second half goals from Fred, Edison Cavani and substitute Mason Greenwood avenged Man United’s 6-1 scandalous defeat to Spurs at Old Trafford earlier in the Season. The Red Devils remain in second on 63 points while Spurs missed the chance to go close to fourth place West Ham as they are in seventh on 49 points. Man United thought they had taken the lead on 33 minutes through Cavani who finished off a neat pass from Paul Pogba but the goal was disallowed after Scott McTominay...

Liverpool manager, Klopp Speaks on replacing Low as Germany head coach

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, has ruled out any possibility of replacing Joachim Low as Germany head coach this summer. On Tuesday, Low, who led Germany to glory at the 2014 World Cup, announced his decision to step down as Germany head coach after Euro 2020, which is taking place at the end of the season. But Klopp, one of the early favourites to replace Low, says he will not be available to replace Low because he still has a contract with Liverpool. Klopp is currently under intense pressure at Anfield after Liverpool’s sixth consecutive home defeat last Sunday against Fulham. Reacting to the development, Klopp said at his pre-match press conference ahead of Liverpool’s Champions League clash with RB Leipzig on Wednesday: “If I am available for coach of the Ge...

Roy Keane Blames Salah, Robertson as Fulham Defeat Liverpool

Former Manchester United star, Roy Keane, has blamed Liverpool duo, Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson for Mario Lemina’s goal against the Reds on Sunday in the Premier League. Keane said Salah and Robertson looked a ‘shadow of themselves’ as Liverpool suffered their sixth consecutive home defeat against Fulham this season. Lemina’s late first-half goal gave Fulham all three points against Jurgen Klopp’s side at Anfield. “It’s a lovely technique [from Lemina], but it’s shocking from Liverpool’s point of view,” Keane told Sky Sports. “Set-piece, obviously Robertson has got to do better. Salah – okay, it’s not one of his strengths – outmuscled. “But it’s a lovely technique, the way he gets across the ball, and they deserve it. It’s not a great delivery. I think Rob...

Liverpool vs Fulham: Klopp Explains Firmino’s Absence, Why he Benched Mane

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, has said that Roberto Firmino didn’t feature in his side’s 1-0 defeat against Fulham because the Brazilian picked up a minor knock. Klopp also revealed why he dropped Sadio Mane to the bench as Liverpool suffered their sixth consecutive home defeat at Anfield against Fulham. Mario Lemina’s strike gave Fulham all three points against the Premier League champions. “Two changes we had to make because of little injuries, with Bobby and Ozan,” Klopp told Sky Sports. “The others [Mane, Trent] we thought it made absolute sense. We are in an intense period, and we have the opportunity now to change some players. “We’ve got now at least more sessions in the legs, so we thought it feels really well together, so that’s the plan behind it. Getting fr...

Liverpool React as Steven Gerrard Wins Scottish Premiership title With Rangers

Liverpool have congratulated Rangers manager, Steven Gerrard, after he guided the team to win this season’s Scottish Premiership title on Sunday. Gerrard’s men won the Scottish Premiership title for the first time since 2011 after Celtic were held to a goalless draw at Dundee United on Sunday afternoon. Rangers were relegated to Scotland’s fourth tier back in 2012 after the financial collapse but have rebuilt steadily and have now denied Celtic a record-breaking 10th consecutive top-flight crown. The Gers defeated St Mirren 3-0 on Saturday at Ibrox, which brought the title in sight. Reacting, Liverpool, in a tweet via its Twitter handle, complimented their former player, Gerrard, and his team. Liverpool tweeted: “Congratulations from all of us at #LFC to Steven...

Man City vs Man Utd: We are not Suffering a Crisis of Confidence – Solskjaer

Manchester United Manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has insisted his players are having a crisis of confidence ahead of Sunday’s clash with Manchester City. The Red Devils have gone three games without a goal. Ahead of the Derby, United have played three consecutive 0-0 draws. City, on the other hand, have opened a 14-point lead at the top of the Premier League table. United have managed just two wins from their last eight league games, but Solskjaer insists his team are not out of form. “We had a week without scoring a goal,” Solskjaer told a news conference on Friday. “It’s not like six weeks with bad form. Not long we won 9-0 [against Southampton], 4-0 against a Real Sociedad team that should have won against Real Madrid at the weekend. “I’m not buying in...

Klopp Names Player Who Made ‘Difference’ During Liverpool’s 1-0 Defeat to Chelsea

Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp, has named Chelsea star, Mason Mount, as the player who made the ‘difference’ during his side’s 1-0 defeat against the Blues on Thursday at Anfield. Klopp explained that Liverpool’s clash against Chelsea was a tight game, but Mount’s individual quality gave Thomas Tuchel’s side all three points against the Reds. Mount scored the only goal of the match in the first half of the encounter as Liverpool suffered their fifth consecutive defeat at home this season. “The individual quality of Mason Mount at that moment made the difference. It was a tight game, intense game,” Klopp told Sky Sports after the defeat to Chelsea. “Both teams invested a lot. That is it pretty much.” He added, “They had the goal they scored, which was offside. The...
