Israel recommends fourth Covid jab to all adults over claims it will triple protection against severe illness

Health officials in Israel have recommended a fourth Covid jab to all adults in the country.   The move follows research showing fourth doses doubled protection against symptomatic Covid-19 and increased protection against severe illness by three to five times, compared with three doses. Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has granted amnesty to 50 convicts serving various jail terms across the country. COVID-19 Cases Spike By 77% In One Week As States Reduce Testing – NCDC

According to The PUNCH, a weekly epidemiology report from July 5 to July 11 2021 on the website of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has revealed that some states have reduced testing, while the country has recorded a 77 percent increase in the total number of reported cases of COVID-19. According to the NCDC website, the states with their corresponding number of tests include : Bauchi (one), Sokoto (one), Zamfara (one), Kogi (three), Yobe (three), Nasarawa (five), and Niger (five).   The number of cases rose from 392 two weeks ago to 693 last week (July 5 to July 11).
