Uche Elendu has joined in calling out the Nigerian legal system for the ruling in favour of Benedicta Elechi's ex-husband, Paul Odekina, after he alleged his ex-wife committed adultery with Daddy Freeze while they were still married. Uche Elendu asked why the court didn't do anything for the 9 years Benedicta filed for divorce only to end up ruling quickly the moment her ex alleged adultery. She shared Skuki Peeshaun's opinion on the matter and added that she's standing by Tastebudz, whose real name is Benedicta Elechi.

On Air Personality Ifedayo Olarinde alias Daddy Freeze has said he will appeal a Rivers State High Court ruling that demands he pays the sum of N5 million for adultery with a woman named Benedicta Elechi. The 44-year-old revealed this in a YouTube video on Sunday. He said it was issued in his absence as he was never served by the court. Protest In Kano Over Court Ruling On New Emirates

Some residents of Kano communities are currently embarking on a protest over Thursday’s court judgment. PREMIUM TIMES reported how the Kano high court nullified the creation of four new first-class emirates by the state government. The four new emirates for which Governor Abdullahi Ganduje named first-class emirs in May are Bichi, Rano, Karaye and Gaya. Justice Usman Na’Abba ruled on Thursday that the law creating the new emirates did not follow due process. After the judgement, scores of residents of Karaye, one of the affected areas, trooped out to protest the judgement. A similar protest is ongoing in Gaya. INEC Forges Ahead With Melaye’s Recall Process Despite Court Ruling

Despite a court ruling which ordered that the “status quo” be maintained, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, posted the notice of verification for the recall of the lawmaker representing Kogi West senatorial district, Dino Melaye. According to the notice posted at INEC’s office in Lokoja, the Kogi capital, on Monday, the verification would hold across all polling units in the senatorial district on August 19. As part of Melaye’s recall process, petitioners had submitted the details of 188,588 registered voters in Kogi West who signed the petition. The 188,588 signatories to the petition fulfill one of the needs for the requirement that one-half of the number of registered voters in a constituency is needed for the recall of a lawmaker. Court Ruling On The $48M Recovered From Osborne Towers, Ikoyi

The Federal High Court today ruled that the $48m (Forty Eight Million Dollars) recovered from Osborne Towers in Ikoyi be forfeited to the Federal Government.
