Man Utd vs Liverpool: How Man City Could be Crowned EPL Champions on Sunday

Manchester City could be confirmed Premier League champions, 24 hours after they beat Crystal Palace. Sergio Aguero and Ferran Torres both scored for the leaders, as they claimed a 2-0 win at Selhurst Park on Saturday. The victory leaves them on the verge of reclaiming their crown from Liverpool. City’s 2-0 win at Crystal Palace has taken them to 80 points, 13 clear of closest rivals Manchester United. United welcome Liverpool to Old Trafford on Super Sunday. But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team can only get a maximum of 82 points if they win all their remaining fixtures. If United lose to Liverpool, Guardiola’s men would regain the Premier League trophy with four games left. A United draw would also effectively secure the title for City, because Solskjaer’s s...

Sergio Agüero Strikes to Put Man City on the Brink of Premier League Title

Quickfire goals from Sergio Aguero and Ferran Torres have put Manchester City on the brink of the Premier League title after beating Crystal Palace 2-0 at Selhurst Park. Pep Guardiola made eight changes from the midweek victory at PSG and it showed in the first half as City failed to register a shot on target. Gabriel Jesus had a goal ruled out for offside, while Palace also had chances of their own, beating City's tally for on-target efforts (2) in the opening 45 minutes. But 12 minutes after half-time, Man City had their first two shots on target - both of which resulted in goals. The first was an emphatic finish from Aguero (57) into the roof of the net before Torres (59) fired home from the top of the area 83 seconds later to seal the victory. It sees City put...

Jordan Ayew: Recent decline can’t mask superb season

The Ghanaian's form tailed off, as did Crystal Palace’s, after the restart, leaving player and club ruing missed opportunities after a strange season When Crystal Palace assess the 2019/20 season, there may be a sense of ‘what might have been?’ owing to how a season that promised so much delivered so little in the end. Having put themselves in a position to not only beat their best points tally in Premier League history (49 points in 18/19) or their highest finish (10th in 14/15), Roy Hodgson's troops eventually did neither, finishing on 43 points which was only good enough for 14th spot. For a bit of context, Palace’s 2-0 win at Bournemouth in their first match post-lockdown put them on 42 points, which highlights the glaring collapse of the Eagles after the enforced hiatus....

Lampard: Kante may have to change the way he trains to stay injury-free at Chelsea

The Blues boss had used his World Cup-winning midfielder in every minute of every game since the restart - before he went down injured against Watford Frank Lampard thinks N'Golo Kante might have to change the way he manages himself after a spate of injuries this season has often left him unavailable for selection. The 29-year-old had been the only Chelsea player to line up for every minute of his side's return since the coronavirus-enforced stoppage in the Premier League. However, he is now out of the upcoming trip to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace, while he is also unlikely to be fit to face Sheffield United at the weekend.

Liverpool Lucky Against Everton – Klopp

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, has admitted his side escaped with a point against rivals Everton on Sunday night. The hosts had the best chance to score late in the game, after Alisson Becker saved Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s effort. Tom Davies then hit the post from the rebound. The result means Klopp’s men will now win the title against Crystal Palace on Wednesday, provided Manchester City fail to beat Burnley on Monday. “I liked our defending and high midfield press but we didn’t have enough chances for the possession we had. We were dominant but they had the biggest chance and that’s how it is. “We were lucky in that moment. In the end, Everton defended really well and we were not smart enough to use the space we had,” Klopp told Sky Sports. ...

Unai Emery Reveals Player he Wanted Arsenal to Sign Instead of Pepe

Former Arsenal manager, Unai Emery, has revealed he wanted the club to sign Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace instead of Nicolas Pepe. Pepe became the Gunners’ record signing, when he completed a £72million move from Lille last summer. However, the Ivorian winger struggled to live up to that price tag in the early stages of the season. Pepe netted just one goal from the penalty spot in his first 12 Premier League appearances, with the last of those coming in Emery’s final game against Southampton. His form has, however, improved under Mikel Arteta and he has scored three times in the league since the Spaniard took charge. Emery says he was always worried the 24-year-old would take time to adapt. “We signed Pepe. He’s a good player but we didn’t k...
