Soldiers Kill Robbery Suspect in Aba

A robbery suspect said to be part of a five-member gang terrorising Aba, the state’s commercial city has been killed by soldiers. A military source told The Nation that the incident happened at an army outpost by the popular Ariaria Junction. The gang operating in a commercial bus reportedly refused to stop when the soldiers flagged them down, but instead barged into the military barrier. The soldiers who sensed danger opened fire on them, killing one and injuring another. Other members of the gang who tried to escape were arrested and handed over to the police.
