Chelsea: Timo Werner equals Eden Hazard’s record

Chelsea forward, Timo Werner has equalled the club’s former player, Eden Hazard’s record at Stamford Bridge. Werner, who has endured a lot of criticism this season, equalled a record held by Hazard, who currently plays for Real Madrid, in Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Fulham in the Premier League on Saturday. The 25-year-old has come under fire on several occasions this season for missing easy chances, the most recent of which came in Chelsea’s Champions League semi-final first-leg 1-1 draw with Real Madrid last Tuesday. The Germany international failed to get on the scoresheet once again against Fulham, but he did provide the assist for Kai Havertz’s second goal against the visitors. And in doing so, Werner registered his 10th assist in all competitions for the Blues th...

Juventus vs Parma: Pirlo Reacts to Ronaldo’s Failure to,Jump,Block Free-kick

Juventus manager Andrea Pirlo has reacted after Cristiano Ronaldo again faced criticism for an apparent reluctance to commit fully to blocking dangerous free-kicks. The Bianconeri boss admitted he has a decision to make on Cristiano Ronaldo after seeing the Portuguese fail to perform blocking duties in Juventus’ 3-1 win against Parma on Wednesday night. Ronaldo’s presence is often needed in defensive walls during free-kicks, given his height and frame. But the 5-time Ballon d’Or winner has, however, faced criticism of late over his reluctance to perform this role. FC Porto fired beyond the 36-year-old during their Champions League game to claim a notable scalp and Parma also drilled over Ronaldo’s head in a Serie A outing on Wednesday. “COS Ibrahim Gambari Is Even More Dangerous Than Kyari” – Dapo Fafowora

What I have written in this long piece is just some of my personal experience and encounter with him. Everything I have written here is in my memoirs 'Lest I Forget 'which he has seen and read. I know him quite well. I was the one who in 1981 brought him to the UN at his request as a member of the Nigerian delegation. He was then a senior lecturer at the ABU. In fact, the late Prof Audu, who was then Foreign Minister actually advised me against inviting him to the UN. But he had strong academic credentials which impressed me. He had obtained his first degree in political science from the LSE, and a doctorate from Colombia University in New York. We were looking for strong delegates to the UN General Assembly and I considered him the kind of delegate we were looking for. So I invite...
