An 80-year-old man identified as David Mluli lost his life at a hotel in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, while he was having a hot romp with his 33-year-old lover. Mr Mluli reportedly collapsed and died suddenly on Saturday, January 16, while he was in room number 22 at Mbezi Garden Hotel in Dar es Salaam, where he had gone to relax in the company of his girlfriend identified as Neema Kibaya. Joseph Gandye, a journalist has been arrested in Tanzania and accused of publishing fake news about alleged police abuse of suspects in custody. Gandye works for Watetezi TV, a station established in 2018 by the Tanzania Human Rights Defenders Coalition (THRDC). THRDC has since issued a statement condemning Gandye’s arrest, saying he was being held at a police station in the main city of Dar es Salaam. Police in Tanzania have comfirmed that at least 57 people have been burned to death after a fuel tanker exploded in the eastern town of Morogoro. Regional police commissioner Steven Kabwe told the local Azam TV that 57 bodies have been recovered and added that many others who suffered burns are being treated. Witnesses in Morogoro, which lies about 120 miles (200 kilometers) from Tanzania’s economic hub of Dar es Salaam, told The Associated Press that scores of people had gathered around the fuel tanker after it was involved in an accident trying to siphon fuel when the tanker burst into flames.

Nigeria’s U-17 side, the Golden Eaglets, will know their group opponents of the 2019 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations on Thursday when the draw is staged in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The draw ceremony will take place at the Mlimani City Conference Centre, Dar Es Salam. Hosts Tanzania are seeded in Group A, while Guinea who finished third at the last edition of the competition are seeded in Group B. Guinea got the nod after defending champions, Mali and second placed Ghana failed to qualify for the competition. The Golden Eaglets are drawn in pot 2 along with Morocco, Senegal and Uganda.
