Lawrence Strikes with Last ball, but New Zealand in control

New Zealand put themselves in a strong position in the second Test against England thanks to half-centuries from Devon Conway and Will Young. After England were bowled out for 303, with Dan Lawrence left stranded on 81 not out, Conway (80) and Young (82) both made the most of some good fortune to help the Black Caps close the second day on 229-3, trailing by just 74. Fresh from his double ton on debut at Lord's, Conway survived on 22 when the third umpire adjudged that his edge to Zak Crawley had been grounded, much to England's chagrin, while Young was dropped at slip with only seven to his name, and the pair went on share a stand of 122 for the second wicket. Stuart Broad (2-22) broke the partnership with the second of his two wickets, taking him to 520 in Test cricket and a...

Box Office: ‘F9’ Drives to Mighty $162 Million Debut Overseas

Those ticket sales easily mark the best start for a Hollywood blockbuster since COVID-19 hit. It’s an encouraging start to summer movie season, particularly because revenues weren’t far off from what a “Fast” movie would have generated at the box office in non-pandemic times. “Moviegoers are eager to come back to theaters when the right movie is out there,” Universal’s president of international distribution Veronika Kwan Vandenberg said. “It’s a great movie for the China market,” she adds. “It has a strong fanbase.” Of this weekend’s $162 million bounty, $135 million came from China alone. That ranks as the second...

Chelsea: Timo Werner equals Eden Hazard’s record

Chelsea forward, Timo Werner has equalled the club’s former player, Eden Hazard’s record at Stamford Bridge. Werner, who has endured a lot of criticism this season, equalled a record held by Hazard, who currently plays for Real Madrid, in Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Fulham in the Premier League on Saturday. The 25-year-old has come under fire on several occasions this season for missing easy chances, the most recent of which came in Chelsea’s Champions League semi-final first-leg 1-1 draw with Real Madrid last Tuesday.
