COVID-19: 15 pilgrims test positive, 77 others miss flight in Delta

No fewer than 15 intending Christian pilgrims have tested positive for coronavirus infection in Delta State. The State Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday in Asaba, NAN reports. He said that 77 other intending Christian pilgrims from the state, due to the delay in the release of the test results by the pilgrim authority, missed their flight. According to Aniagwu, a total of 315 pilgrims from Delta were to be airlifted to Jordan from the Port Harcourt International Airport to perform their pilgrimage. “Of the number, 223 eventually traveled as 15 of them reportedly tested positive for the virus and 77 could not travel due to the late release of their test results,” he said. Youths Attack Delta local Council Chairman, cart away rifles

The Chairman of Ethiope West council area of Delta State, Oghenedoro Owoso was on Tuesday May 4 attacked by some youths in Mosogar. The Nation reported that the council chairman was trying to pacify the youths who were protesting an eight-year blackout in the community when things took a different turn. Herdsmen flee Delta community as thunder strike kills 12 cows

Herdsmen on Sunday evening of May 2, ran away from Urhodo-Ovu community in Ethiope-East Local Government Area of Delta State as thunder strike killed 12 of their cows. The herdsmen and the cows were in their settlement when the incident occurred minutes after the heavy downpour, DAILY POST gathered.
