‘Like a dream’ – De Gea delighted with Ronaldo return for Man Utd

The ex-Juventus star is expected to finalise his move in the coming days and United's players have been reacting to his impending arrival   David de Gea said Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to Manchester United is "like a dream" as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad prepare to welcome the Portugal international back to the club. Ronaldo is expected to be officially confirmed as a United player in the coming days after the final paperwork is sorted, and he’ll then head off on international duty before joining up with his team-mates at their Carrington training base. The transfer came out of the blue on Friday afternoon after Ronaldo departed Juventus, and the United dressing room can’t wait for him to arrive.

Afghanistan President, Ashraf Ghani has left the country as the Taliban prepare its last and final offensive into capital of Kabul. Government officials, one from former President Hamid Karzai’s office and another an aide on the Afghan security council, told The Associated Press that Ghani departed the country on Sunday, August 15. Ghani left along with his National Security Adviser Hamdullah Mohib and a second close associate. The escape of Ghani comes after the Taliban captured US made helicopters and Russian made planes in preparation of an attack on Kabul, the country's capital of 3 million people that houses the government and foreign embassies. NUJ Declares 7 Days To Mourn Journalist Killed By Armed Robbers In Ondo

Sun News reports that the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo State Council, has declared seven days of mourning to honour a departed colleague, Mr Olubunmi Afuye, who was killed on Thursday when armed robbers stormed a bank. Afuye, popularly known as ‘BUMBAM’, was killed alongside two people, including a policeman and motorcyclist, on Thursday at Ilara-Mokin in Ifedore Local Government Area. A military aircraft has crashed in Abuja. The aircraft, King Air 350 en-route to Minna crashed at Bassa Airport Village on Sunday morning, February 21, after reporting engine failure Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika confirmed the crash in a tweet and said it "appears to be fatal”. The Minister also urged Nigerians to be calm and wait for the outcome of an investigation by the military. President Buhari this evening returned to Abuja after his 10-day vacation in the UK. He departed Nigeria on August 3rd. The presidential aircraft touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja. Ahead of his arrival, a Guard of Honor was mounted at the airport to receive the President.
