Solskjaer to remain Man Utd manager despite Liverpool humiliation

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will continue as Manchester United manager, despite the disgraceful 5-0 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday, Sky Sport reports. Although senior figures at Old Trafford are disappointed, the immediate focus is on improving. Solskjaer’s team has picked up one point from their last four Premier League fixtures. United’s next two matches in the league are against Tottenham and Manchester City and they also face Atalanta in the Champions League next week. But despite their poor results and huge external speculation, there is no suggestion from inside the club that Solskjaer’s job is under threat at this point. Although former Inter Milan and Chelsea boss, Antonio Conte, has been linked with the job, United’s hierarchy are not convinced by the Italian. This mea...

Atalanta went into the break with two goals advantage having taken the lead through Mario Pasalic and Merih Demiral. Asked if the win was worth celebrating, Scholes told BT Sport, “Celebrating? ''So many things are responsible for the situation we find ourselves. I can’t speak for the government but I can’t say Buhari (government) is totally bad. I’ve never said so, and I may not say so, but I am disappointed in some of his actions. Raducanu falls to defeat in first match since US Open triumph

Emma Raducanu was given a reality check as she stumbled to defeat in her first match since winning the US Open last month, falling 6-2 6-4 to Aliaksandra Sasnovich in the second round of Indian Wells on Friday. It has been 27 days since the 18-year-old stunned the world to become the queen of New York in a fairytale story, but she could not reproduce that level in the Californian desert, going down to the Belarussian world No 100. Raducanu was given the headline slot in the Friday night evening session, but she could not live up to her billing as the super attacking style that served her so well at the US Open proved her downfall early on, and then she squandered a lead in the second set as Sasnovich won four games in a row to seal victory. Had it not been for that incredible wi...

Manchester United midfielder, Bruno Fernandes, has criticized the Red Devils players for not playing at their best against Liverpool following their Premier League 4-2 defeat against the Reds on Thursday. Fernandes believes Man United players gave Liverpool more space during the encounter at Old Trafford, adding that the visitors used the opportunity to score. Goals from Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah ensured Liverpool defeated Man United as Fernandes and Marcus Rashford’s two goals were not enough. “We played side to side, we tried to do what we trained at,” Fernandes told MUTV. “When you go down, playing 45 minutes against a team like Liverpool, we tried to push a little more and create danger. “We gave more space to them, and they took that sp...

Real Madrid Drop Points in Sevilla Draw

Eden Hazard’s 94th-minute equaliser salvaged Real Madrid a dramatic 2-2 draw against Sevilla on Sunday as an extraordinary penalty decision swung La Liga’s title race back in Atletico Madrid’s favour. Zinedine Zidane’s side had levelled through Marco Asensio midway through the second half and thought they had a penalty when Karim Benzema was brought down after rounding Sevilla goalkeeper Yassine Bono. But VAR prompted referee Juan Martinez Munuera to check an Eder Militao handball a few seconds before, with a huge decision seeing Madrid’s penalty cancelled and a spot-kick awarded to Sevilla instead. Ivan Rakitic converted and while Madrid still managed to hit back in injury time, Toni Kroos’ shot deflecting in off Eden Hazard’s foot, the draw hands the advantage back to Atleti...

We tried everything until the last minute. “I think over two legs and what happened today in the second-half, I think we deserved to win the game, but the details defined this tie. “When we had the opportunities, we didn’t score. We hit the post twice, we had three big chances. They didn’t have anything but they are through,” Arteta told BT Sport...

Michael Owen Blasts Solskjaer for picking ‘negative team’ against Leeds

Former Liverpool forward, Michael Owen has criticised Manchester United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for his ‘negative’ tactics in Red Devils 0-0 draw with Leeds in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon Solskjaer’s side played out a 0-0 draw in the game that recorded just a few chances in Yorkshire. It was Manchester United’s seventh 0-0 draw of the season more than any other side in the Premier League. And Owen, also a former Manchester United striker, believes the Norwegian manager’s ‘negative’ move of playing Fred and Scott McTominay together in the midfield contributed to the disappointing draw at Elland Road. “I was disappointed with the team that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer picked,” Owen told Premier League Productions. “I thought it was quite a negative team. Yo...

Graeme Souness Criticises two Arsenal Players after Everton’s 1-0 win

Liverpool hero, Graeme Souness, has criticized two Arsenal players, Granit Xhaka and Bernd Leno, following the Gunners’ Premier League 1-0 defeat against Everton on Friday night at Emirates. Souness said he was disappointed with both Leno and Xhaka for their roles in Everton’s winner, describing the goalkeeper’s mistake as ‘farcical’. Xhaka was beaten easily by Everton striker Richarlison before the Brazilian got to the byline and put a tame cross into the box, which Leno bizarrely diverted into his own net to give the visitors all three points against Mikel Arteta’s men. “Richarlison eases Xhaka off the ball too easily,” Souness told Sky Sports. “He makes his mind up, “I’m going to stand my ground and tackle and win the ball”, instead of forcing him down the line...

No Club has Left Yet – Super League Chairman, Perez insists

Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez, has insisted that no team has left the European Super League yet. In an interview with El Larguero, Perez made it clear that anyone who thinks the project is dead is “completely wrong”. Perez, who is also the president of the Super League, was speaking 24 hours after the controversial breakaway project collapsed. According to him, the 12 founding members have not left yet as they all signed a legally “binding contract”. He said: “I am a bit sad, disappointed. We have been working three years on this project, on fighting the current financial situation in Spanish football. It is easy to understand – you cannot touch La Liga, so you look for more money midweek. “The leagues are sacred. What we can change is the midweek games. The Ch...

George Bush Describes Republican Party as ‘Isolationist,Protectionist and, to a Certain Extent, Nativist’

Former US President, George W. Bush on Tuesday described the Republican Party, of which he is a member, as "isolationist, protectionist and, to a certain extent, nativist," his strongest and most direct criticism yet against the party since leaving office in 2009. The comment of Bush is sure to ring bells not only because he is a former Republican president but he has hardly made political comments since leaving the White House Bush recently talked about the need for a gentler approach to immigration by the Republican party,  but has not spoken negatively about the party even during the chaotic Trump era. Asked on Tuesday how he would describe the Republican Party as he sees it today, Bush told NBC's Hoda Kotb on the "Today" show, "I would describe it as ...

I’m Disappointed, Gutted over 1-1 Draw with Arsenal – Fulham boss, Scott Parker

Fulham boss, Scott Parker has said that he was disappointed and gutted after his team failed to hang on for a crucial win over Arsenal in their Premier League clash on Sunday. A win would have boosted Fulham’s chances in their bid to avoid relegation back into the Championship. Eddie Nketiah came off the bench to equalise for the Gunners in the injury-time after Josh Maja’s penalty put the visitors ahead. “I’m disappointed and gutted and the overriding factor is the team have worked tirelessly today, given everything, come to a place like this against a very good side and manged to get our nose in front,” Parker told a postmatch press conference. “I’m immensely proud of the team and the journey they have been on and I often say a young team lacking Premier League ...
