The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday said it had concluded arrangements to resume Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) on Monday, June 28. 48 New Cases of COVID-19 Recorded in Nigeria

48 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Nigeria on Monday, March 29, 2021. According to the Nigeria Center for Disease Control NCDC, Lagos recorded 13 new cases, the highest for the day. Other states with new cases include Kaduna-7, Nasarawa-7, Kano-6, Kwara-5, Ondo-4, Akwa Ibom-3, and Osun-3. The agency also disclosed that they were 28 community recoveries in Ekiti State managed in line with guidelines. Nigeria now has a total of 162,641 confirmed cases. 150,466 patients have been discharged so far with 2,049 deaths recorded.

269 New Cases of COVID-19 Recorded in Nigeria

269 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Nigeria on Sunday, March 7, 2021. According to the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC), Enugu recorded 78 new cases, the highest for the day. Other states with new cases include Bauchi-37,  Rivers-22,  Imo-18, Ogun-16, FCT-15, Akwa Ibom-13,  Kaduna-13, Kebbi-11,  Kwara-9,  Edo-7,  Ekiti-6,  Borno-5,  Yobe-5,  Kano-4,  Nasarawa-3,  Osun-3,  Anambra-2 and Plateau-2. The agency also disclosed that they were 80 community recoveries in Kwara State. Nigeria now has a total of 158,506 confirmed cases 137, 875 patients have been discharged so far with 1,969 deaths recorded.

371 new Cases of COVID-19 Recorded in Nigeria

371 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Nigeria on Friday, March 5, 2021. According to the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC), Lagos recorded 101 new cases, the highest for the day. Other states with new cases include Rivers-54, Anambra-31, Ebonyi-23, Imo-23, Kwara-22, Kano-20, Taraba-17, Akwa Ibom-16, FCT-15, Abia-13, Kaduna-13, Osun-5, Edo-4, Oyo-4, Kebbi-3, Ogun-3, Ekiti-2, Nasarawa-1 and Zamfara-1. The agency also disclosed that they were 204 community recoveries in Kwara State, 167 in Lagos State, 88 in Edo State, and 60 in Osun State. Nigeria now has a total of 158,042 confirmed cases 137, 025 patients have been discharged so far with 1,954 deaths recorded. See a breakdown of the number of cases per state below.

Notorious Car Snatcher Nabbed in Nasarawa

The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested a notorious car snatcher, Faisal Salihu, at New Nyanya, Karu Local Government Area of the state. CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele Confirms Adjustment of Naira to N410/$1

Godwin Emefiele, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has confirmed that exchange rate of naira to dollar has been adjusted to N410/$1 at the official market. Addressing bankers at a summit on the economy in Lagos on Friday February 26, Governor Godwin Emefiele said the official exchange rate now stands at 410 to the dollar. Emefiele also disclosed that the drop in crude oil earnings and the associated reduction in foreign portfolio inflows significantly affected the supply of foreign exchange into Nigeria. He expressed hope of increased exports helping to boost dollar supply. He said; “In order to adjust for the decrease in supply of foreign exchange, the naira depreciated at the official window from N305/$ to N360/$ and now hovers around N410/$."

Gunmen Abduct Traditional Ruler, Four Boat Passengers in Rivers
