According to Sun News, some unknown gunmen suspected to be hired killers, yesterday, shot dead a driver and mobile police escort attached to a prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) youth leader, Chief Micheal Johnny, at the popular Airport Junction in the heart of Warri South Local Government Area of Delta state. A hit-and-run driver has killed a 28-year-old man identified simply as Daniel in Ughelli, Delta state. At least 5 people lost their lives and 2 were seriously injured in a fatal accident on the Nsukka-Obollo road in Enugu State. Agency Intercepts Truck with 30 Almajiris Hidden Amongst Pepper in Ogun State

The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) says its operatives intercepted a truck loaded with about 30 Almajiris at Joju area of Ado-Odo/Ota local government area of the state. The IVECO truck with Registration number -Kano XG172 KNG, was meant to be carrying only goods and was covered with a tarpaulin. The content of the truck was discovered when operatives forced the driver to park and untie the tarpaulin. When he did, they found Almajiri’s loaded in the truck with pepper. The truck was said to have been turned back and led to tollgate, the border area between ogun state and Lagos state from where they said they came into the state.

NCDC Driver Tests Positive for COVID-19 in Nasarawa

A driver with the Nigeria Center for Disease Control NCDC has tested positive for the novel Coronavirus in Nasarawa state. The state governor, Abdullahi Sule, disclosed this during an expanded state security meeting in Lafia, the state capital today May 5th. According to the governor, the driver who resides in Ado in Karu Local Government Area of the state, transports test samples for the agency in Abuja and got infected in the process. He was declared positive this morning and has been moved to the isolation center at the Federal Medical Centre, Keffi for treatment. Nasarawa has 11 confirmed cases of the viral disease.
