Police rescue abducted twin daughters and personal aides of Kwara monarch

Kwara State Police Command on Sunday said it has rescued the kidnapped twin daughters and domestic staff of Oba Samuel Adelodun, the Owalobo of Obbo Ayegunle in Ekiti local government area of Kwara state. The 6-year-old twin girls, maid, driver, and security were abducted by gunmen last Thursday on their way home from school at Omu-Aran in Irepodun Local Government Area of the state. A bullion van has skidded off the Lekki-Epe expressway on Thursday. DAILY POST reports that the crash occurred at about 1:30pm near the entrance of Ikate Elegushi. The officers and driver did not sustain injuries. They were all safe and seen near the armored vehicle assessing the extent of damage. It is unclear if the van was carrying money as the officers were silent on any information. It was gathered that the operatives were expecting a towing van as at press time.

The family of Lagos taxi driver, Adeshina Adeosun, who was killed by the police, has been paid a N10million compensation by the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry and Restitution for SARS-related abuses and other matters. The family was among the six recipients of N19.25million compensation by the panel, all victims of police brutality. Hit-and-run Driver Kills Young Man in Delta

A hit-and-run driver has killed a 28-year-old man identified simply as Daniel in Ughelli, Delta state. The incident happened in the early hours of Thursday, January 7, along the Ughelli axis of the East-West road. It was gathered that the deceased worked as a security guard in an undisclosed firm in Ughelli and was returning to Agbarha-Otor, near Ughelli in Ughelli North Local Government on his bycycle after completing a night shift when he was knocked down by the vehicle. 5 dead, 2 Injured in Enugu Road Accident – FRSC

At least 5 people lost their lives and 2 were seriously injured in a fatal accident on the Nsukka-Obollo road in Enugu State. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Sector Commander in the state, Mr Ogbonnaya Kalu said the accident occurred on Friday, July 10, at Kpokpo junction, by Micho Link Filling Station. He said there were two injured people at the scene and FRSC officials took them to the hospital. He added that the accident was caused by wrong overtaking by a green Toyota Sienna. He said the wrong overtaking led to a head on collision with a truck loaded with fertiliser. All 5 occupants of the Toyota Sienna died. The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) says its operatives intercepted a truck loaded with about 30 Almajiris at Joju area of Ado-Odo/Ota local government area of the state. The IVECO truck with Registration number -Kano XG172 KNG, was meant to be carrying only goods and was covered with a tarpaulin. NCDC Driver Tests Positive for COVID-19 in Nasarawa

A driver with the Nigeria Center for Disease Control NCDC has tested positive for the novel Coronavirus in Nasarawa state. The state governor, Abdullahi Sule, disclosed this during an expanded state security meeting in Lafia, the state capital today May 5th. According to the governor, the driver who resides in Ado in Karu Local Government Area of the state, transports test samples for the agency in Abuja and got infected in the process.
