Conor McGregor Appears To Punch Elderly Man In The Head In Dublin Bar

Shocking footage has emerged of Conor McGregor appearing to punch an elderly man in an Irish bar. The alleged incident took place at The Marble Arch Pub in Dublin on April 6 and came after a dispute over whiskey, according to widespread reports. McGregor walked in and lined up drinks for bar patrons in footage obtained by TMZ. But the problem started when the man apparently refused his offer. The 31-year-old took offence to the rejection and seemed to react by throwing a punch at the bloke's head. You can quite clearly see the shocked reactions of those around McGregor, including the barmaid who immediately puts her hands to her face. The incident was allegedly reported to the police, however there are no reports that McGregor has been charged for the offence. Perhaps the ma...

Lampard’s Chelsea reign begins with friendly draw after late Bohemians goal

Wednesday's clash in Dublin saw the club legend get his tenure as boss off to a slow start with a draw against the Irish side Frank Lampard's tenure as Chelsea boss started with a friendly draw on Wednesday, with Michy Batshuayi scoring for the Blues before a late leveller from Irish side Bohemians saw the London club held to a 1-1 stalemate. Lampard picked a side headlined by Batshuayi and Pedro for the friendly which marked the start of his reign as Chelsea boss, and it was Belgium international Batshuayi who kicked things off by opening the scoring just eight minutes in. Left-back Kenedy - back from a loan spell at Newcastle - laid on the opener, driving in from the left side and firing a shot that was blocked into the path of Batshuayi. The 25-year-old did well to hold off a...

Republic of Ireland 2 Gibraltar 0: McCarthy’s men maintain unbeaten start

A first-half own goal from Joseph Chipolina and a Robbie Brady effort helped a woeful Republic of Ireland to beat Gibraltar 2-0 in Dublin. The Republic of Ireland maintained their unbeaten start to Euro 2020 qualifying with a laboured 2-0 win over Gibraltar at the Aviva Stadium on Monday. Mick McCarthy kicked off his second stint in charge of Ireland with a slender 1-0 win in the reverse fixture at the end of March but hopes of a significantly more routine victory on home turf failed to materialise. They were indebted to an own goal from Joseph Chipolina shortly before the half-hour mark, with Robbie Brady adding injury-time gloss to the scoreline.

Our dream is being crushed by a juggernaut: This family’s rural idyll is under threat from a new road that could make it almost unsellable

After two decades of fast-paced city life in London, Dublin and New York, my wife Michaela and I decided it was time to put down roots and ease up a bit. On our first viewing, we knew Fir Tree Farm in Suffolk was ideal for raising our daughters, Olivia, 14, Amelie, 13, and Ruby, 11, and so it was that five years ago we moved to the country. Nestled in several acres with two ponds and woodland, the 17th-century farmhouse gave us the tranquillity we had longed for. It is so secluded that our only neighbours are acres of arable farmland, hares we can watch boxing and skies so dark that on clear nights you can see satellites hurtling through space like shooting stars. We spent last year getting permission to extend the four-bedroom farmhouse and replace a dilapidated barn so we could provi...

The protest in London was organised by the campaign group also called "Bridges not Walls", in reference to Trump's pledge to build a wall on the Mexican border. "We won't let the politics of hate peddled by the likes of Donald Trump take hold," Nona Hurkmans of Bridges not Walls said in a statement.

N Ireland In Crisis After Govt Collapses

Britain's Northern Ireland minister has called an early election for March 2 following the collapse of the region's power-sharing government. Northern Ireland is widely seen as the part of the UK most exposed to Brexit as it could upend trade and the free movement of people across its land border with the Irish Republic. Efforts to form a new devolved government will likely begin just before Britain starts the talks on exiting the European Union. "No one should underestimate the challenge faced to the political institutions here in Northern Ireland and what is at stake," Britain's Northern Ireland minister James Brokenshire told a news conference. "I would strongly encourage the political parties to conduct this election with a view to the future of Northern Ireland and r...
