It’s Not True That Buhari Doesn’t Know How To Govern —Osinbajo

He also disagreed with inference that selfishness is the bane of those in government, saying that the Buhari administration is doing its best for Nigerians. Osinbajo said the efforts of the incumbent administration could have been felt more if not for the activities of those he described as “saboteurs” allegedly working against the government. The Vice President spoke at Saint Luke’s Anglican Church, Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State, during the burial service for Mrs. Moroluke Fakoyede, mother of the Secretary to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mr. Ola Olukoyede. He said that Buhari inherited “a highly debased economy” from the immediate past admin...

The Ekiti State governor during a joint assessment of the land with his counterpart from Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike, on Sunday, said, “With what I have seen, I cannot see any evidence of any building that has been demolished here. From what I have seen here, I think it is a storm in a tea cup,” the NGF chairman added.

Governor Fayemi Denies Attending World Economic Forum In South Africa

Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, has denied attending the World Economic Forum in South Africa in the face of xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in the country. Nigerians had reacted with criticism towards photographs of Fayemi with Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State and the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi, alleging that they were at the forum which is ongoing in Cape Town. The Federal Government had announced that it was boycotting the WEF in protest against the xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa, Igbere TV reports. However, Fayemi, in a statement on Thursday by his Senior Special Assistant on Electronic Media, Kanmi Olatoye, said he was at another event in Stellenbosch, South Africa. He said: “Contrary to some misleading online reports, Ekiti State Gover...

Tinubu, Fayemi, Akintoye deny Knowledge Of New Yoruba Leader’s Emergence

Barely 48 hours after he allegedly emerged the new leader of the Yoruba race, emeritus Professor of History and Second Republic Senator, Seth Banji Akintoye has denied knowledge of such happening. Akintoye was said to have thrashed the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu by 73 to three votes, at an event coordinated by some Yoruba self-determination groups in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Thursday. But the retired scholar insists he knows nothing about the election of a new leader, and was not at the venue of the election, but only heard the news on the radio, television and read it in the newspapers just like everyone. In similar vein, Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State Fayemi has described as fallacy, claims that he backed Akintoye’s ...

SERAP Asks Governors To Emulate ‘Makinde’s Open Asset Declaration Example

Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has urged 35 state governors in Nigeria to “emulate the shining example of Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, who recently openly declared his assets, by publishing without further delay the full details of their asset declarations submitted to the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB). SERAP said: “Nigerians ought to know the worth of their state governors. The publication of asset declarations by state governors will improve transparency, accountability and good governance and assure the public that neither fraud nor illicit enrichment is concealed. Knowing the worth of state governors before and after taking offices would also prevent rumours, half-truths or innuendo regarding asset declarations.” According to the assets declarati...

7-Year-Old Daniel Olutope Is Ekiti Governor For One Day As Fayemi Steps Aside

In a bid to encourage a 7-year-old pupil, Daniel Olutope, to work hard in a bid to actualize his dream of one day becoming the helmsman of Ekiti, the state governor, Kayode Fayemi, handed over power to the young lad to steer the affairs of the state for a day. It started when the Mr Fayemi visited the school of Olutope and the duo became friends after “an intelligent chat” between the two. “Government business was put on hold last week when Dr Kayode Fayemi welcomed 7-year-old school boy, Daniel Olutope, to his office in fulfilment of the governor’s invitation to visit when he was in Daniel’s school earlier in May this year,” the government of state said in a statement posted on its social media pages. “Fate brought the duo together on 7th May when the governor had lunch with ...
