Four assists in one match equals a record set only by six other players: Cesc Fabregas, Dennis Bergkamp, Jose Antonio Reyes, Santi Cazorla, Emmanuel Adebayor, and Dusan Tadic. Pogba’s four assists this afternoon means that he has surpassed his total for last season. Townsend was lauded on talkSPORT, saying, “I have always been a fan of this guy You’ve got to live with the fact he will lose the ball in his own half every now and again, he will get caught on...

‘I’m going to run you over with a train’ – Deontay Wilder tells Tyson Fury ahead of July trilogy fight

Former WBC champion, Deontay Wilder has warned current WBC champion, Tyson Fury ahead of their third fight in Las Vegas on July 24.   Wilder, an Alabama native, will attempt to avenge his stoppage loss to Fury when the heavyweight rivals share the ring and Wilder has threatened Fury.   Tyson Fury said the third fight against Deontay Wilder will finish even quicker than his emphatic win last time around.   At this month's pre-match press conference, Fury had told Wilder that he would build his weight up to 300lbs to 'run him over like I'm an 18-wheeler.' But Wilder has posted his response on social media after appearing to lift a 310lb weight that would be bigger than Fury's envisioned weight. "I'm going be a train," said Wilder. "You say a semi-tr...

Denmark hit Four to Crush Wales’ Euros Dream

Wales exited Euro 2020 at the last-16 stage as Denmark continued their emotional quest for glory with an emphatic 4-0 victory at Amsterdam's Johan Cruyff Arena. The Danes, rocked by Christian Eriksen's cardiac arrest in Copenhagen a fortnight ago, set up a quarter-final tie against either Netherlands or Czech Republic thanks to Kasper Dolberg's double and late strikes from Joakim Maehle and Martin Braithwaite. Dolberg, starting in place of the injured Yussuf Poulsen, struck the opener with an outstanding, curling finish from outside the box midway through the first half, then pounced on a Neco Williams error to double Denmark's lead shortly after half-time. Maehle hit the third in the penultimate minute of normal time when he collected a Mathias Jensen cross, cut inside hi...

EPL: Guardiola Claims Goalkeeper Ederson Could Take Man City’s Next Penalty

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has said he will consider goalkeeper Ederson as the next penalty taker, after Ilkay Gundogan’s miss at Liverpool. Gundogan stepped up to take the spot kick after Raheem Sterling was fouled by Fabinho late in the first half, but put his effort over the bar. The German midfielder, however, made amends by scoring twice in the second half, as City recorded an emphatic 4-1 win at Anfield. “Gundogan missed a penalty, it’s like a routine against them, but we started really really well, doing what we want to do,” Guardiola told BBC Sport. Turning his attention to the penalty miss, Guardiola added: “It’s a problem that we have. In important moments, we cannot miss it, and it doesn’t matter the taker. “Again, I’m going to think abo...

‘We still want to win the league’ – Dortmund CEO

Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has said that his team are still hoping to win the Bundesliga title after their 5-0 humiliation at the hands of Bayern Munich on Saturday. Bayern reclaimed top spot with their emphatic victory on Saturday, but they remain only a point ahead of Dortmund with six games to go. “Of course we want to win the league,” said Watzke during a Sky Sports chat show appearance with his Bayern counterpart Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. “In a few days, Bayern will notice that they only got three points for their win, and we will realise that we are only a point behind them.” Watzke admitted Dortmund were now underdogs, but insisted that his team could bounce back and keep the pressure on the Bavarians. “Bayern are obviously favourites, but I don’t ...

#FvckyouChallange: Simi Apologizes For Derogatory Tribal Marks Lyrics

Nigerian singer, Simi, has taken to Twitter to apologize for her derogatory tribal marks lyrics as she did her version of the #FvckyouChallange. Simi came under fire for talking about people with tribal marks in her cover of the trending #FvckyouChallange song, and she has now taken to Twitter to make amends. Most notably, Nigerian model with tribal marks on her face, Adetutu, in her reaction mentioned that Simi’s choice to use the phrase: “sè mo kòlá ní” which literally can be translated from the Yoruba Language as Do I look stupid?, is quite derogatory. Taking to social media to clear the air, Simi shared an image on Twitter which read; Guys I had to bring down my post cos I used the line “abi o ro bi mo kola ni” (Do you think I have tribal marks?) – which people mean to sa...

S’Court Decides Rivers’ APC Primaries Logjam Under the Gun Friday

The Supreme Court is to finally resolve the Rivers State All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries logjam tomorrow as it delivers its judgement on an appeal brought before it by parties in the protracted conflict, THISADY learnt last night. The judgement, which had been reserved indefinitely on Monday, apparently because of the impending arraignment of the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Onnoghen, by the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) for alleged non-declaration of assets, would be delivered against the background, of what legal analysts described as concealed intimidation of the judiciary by the APC-led federal government. Analysts that spoke to THISDAY last night were emphatic that there was a nexus between the Rivers State appeal case and Onnoghen’s travails, poin...

Marital Scored Twice To Give United The Lead

Pogba, at fault for the first goal, emerged from a three-on-one situation on the halfway line to feed in Lukaku and the Belgian played it out to Rashford. Mata had a fine shot stopped but Chelsea couldn’t clear the ball and after David Luiz went down off the ball Martial found himself free to smash home past Kepa Arrizabalaga. It was a deserved equaliser on the balance of play but what really would have worried Maurizio Sarri was how his Chelsea side stopped playing their own game. The Blues had made an empthatic start to the season under the Italian but the Chelsea defence suddenly looked nervous and were giving up chances to United. Luiz’s role in the first had put him off his game and he made a crazy decision to lunge in on Mata on the right wing. The Brazilian missed his chall...
