We have failed our children – Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed

Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, has raised of alarm of parents failing their children. Speaking during a stakeholders’ engagement with 77 district heads, religious and community leaders from the 23 Local Government Areas of Kaduna State on Saturday October 31, the Minister stated that parents have failed their children by not instilling same values they had in them. World Bank Lists 40 Economies with Reforms on Women Empowerment

The regulatory environment for women’s economic participation has improved over the past two years, but Nigeria is missing mention among 40 countries that enacted 62 reforms that will help women. The women– half of the world’s population, would need the reforms to realise their potential and contribute to economic growth and development, a new World Bank study has said. Still, the results are uneven, as women in many countries have only a fraction of the legal rights of men, holding back their economic and social development. LSETF entrepreneurship programmes created 90,000 jobs in three years

About 90,000 jobs have been created by the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) entrepreneurship programmes in three years, the Fund has revealed.LSETF revealed this at the presentation of its social impact assessment report of the entrepreneurship programmes in Lagos recently. The Impact Assessment Exercise, which was carried out with support from the Ford Foundation, measured the achievements of the Fund’s interventions, documented the lessons learnt, and made recommendations on how to enhance the Fund’s performance in future.
