Gunmen Kill Police Officer in Akwa Ibom

A police officer was killed in the early hours of Sunday June 13, in an attack which took place in a divisional police station in Odoro Ikpe, Ini Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom state. The state police spokesperson, Odiko MacDon confirmed the attack and also told newsmen that one of the gunmen has been arrested and identified as Imoh Udo, 28, from Ikot Edem village in Essien Udim Local Government Area of the state. Less than 24 hours after gunmen razed down the Atta police station in Njaba local government area of Imo state, another police station in Izombe in Oguta local government area has been razed by some unknown gunmen. The student of Kings School otherwise known as Capro Secondary Mission School located at Gana Ropp in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State who was kidnapped by unknown gunmen on April 29, has regained freedom. One Raphael Abraham narrowly escaped death on Friday March 5, when a speeding tipper driver rammed into him and a Mercedes Benz at Eliozu Junction in Port Harcourt, Rivers state.
